I read in reddit that some officers in the Spanish Inquisition (from which the game draws inspiration from) wears helmets similar to this. Besides why do you want to skip a game for just a minute detail?

I dunno, I watched the trailer and, well maybe it's just me, but I got visually stuck on the metallic KKK hood, so...I think I'll skip (for now, maybe not permanent), still thanks for the info

These hats have been used since the XVII century, so they predate the KKK by two centuries. They are not inspired by it.
