Report a translation problem
You can do this twice per jump, plus one normal swing as you drop. With a certain rosary... toe... you can do it three times instead of two.
Most of the game this isn't useful, but there are a few enemies and bosses where it helps.
Then compare it to jumping and tapping Y to hit an enemy without holding down.
Pretty much what TreasureCat states. Keep holding down and tap the attack button whilst hitting the enemy in the air. Initially I was tapping both down and the attack button and kept executing the downward thrust attack.
Hold down, tap Y for Air Impulse. You can do two impulses and then the third will just be a normal swing.
Hold down and hold Y for the downward thrust (after you've purchased it, of course).
