Anyone know what to do with Dried Flowers Bathed in Tears

In a cave that opens up in the first snow area. It's opened after you do the treeguy's quest (if he's not responding to you then you are already too late into the game; he's the only missable things the game has).

I can go into the cave, but it's always been empty. I've been to the part underneath, but I don't know how to open the floor.

Have you talked to the guy that's stuck to a tree at the beginning of the area? If you can bring him that item, the place will open up.

I got the flowers from him after giving him the thimble full of oil. I must have messed something up.

I missed all the treeman quest but got the item in the place before you fight the giant head. What's the point of giving you the item if it's useless after the treeman dies?

Oh, I think I see how this probably is intended to go:

Gemino's (Treeguy's name) quest is intended to open up the way to the grave of the olive girl from above. It essentially allows you to get the "Attack for health" prayer early in the game.

If you happen to fail the quest, then the other way to get the prayer is to get the Golden Linen from saving some of the imprisoned Moonlight Children, and then interacting with the bull painting in the Gallery later in the game. The lInen allows you to fall into bottomless pits without dying, instead getting you to whatever area might be below on the map.

Remember that big first chasm in the snowy area? If you jump down there with the linen, you can can get into the cave that leads you to the grave of the girl. (It also has a colectible)

Unless if the cave that lets you enter the grave from above has any special item in it, you might not even be missing anything. [/spoiler]

See, I think my game bugged. Because I did the treeguy quest and the cave just failed to open. I got in the other way, though.

Just wanted to add something here, I'm playing on the switch and originally thought I had messed this quest up as he had already turned before I went to the covenant. However, I went back to him after I had gotten the oil and beaten the lady of the charred visage and he still took the oil. I got the frozen olive from him but is the cave supposed to open after this? Just making sure, but we're talking about the cave two screens to the left of him, right?

I talked to him and he took the oil, but I don't think he gave me the olive. And I'm on PC.
