offline solo

looking to pick this up now in the sale, if you play offline solo only do you still have one character or do you you get a few AIs?
also is it ok to completly play offline?

There are no companions at any time when playing solo.

I played through the game with all six characters solo. You have complete control over the difficulty setting. I started on Very Hard and pushed on to Chaos 3 as I got more powerful. I had no issues beating the game. I died a few times but it was due to pushing the difficulty up to fast or not paying enough attention lol. If you struggle at any point you can just drop the difficulty a notch.

I am playing thru the game solo as well, and i'm faililng horribly at the task the game presented me.

I'm playing a Slayer on hardcore and so far i''ve failed horribly at dying.
