On sale yeah, it's worth it. But don't buy it full price.

Among other things this thing is a resource hog, your RAM usage spikes through the roof, loading screens can take well up 5 minutes.

And then there's the 30GB texture pack upgrade.

Bad reviews in many cases are from people who expected different game here - Chaosbane is really simple and anyone can play it. It's also fairly short. Just ask yourself what do you expect form hack'n'slash game and look at some gameplay on the youtube for example.

I enjoyed it, beat the game with all characters and it was really fun to mindlessly chop down everything in sight.

It's 80% off with the 2 story DLCs at Humble for the next 2 days.

Yeah, all that mixed reception made me think this was much rougher than it is. I got this a while ago and didn't play it til now. Totally happy.

It's surprisingly polished with a good spectacle level. It's on the shorter side at about 11 14-ish hours to finish the first (and I'm assuming largest) campaign. What I really liked about this game though is that its leveling and loot systems provide that ARPG progression while simultaneously allowing basically free movement between builds and gameplay. The combat is also very engaging for any ARPG.

Maybe it was that launch price but at the reduced price and any sale, honestly this is a great game.

Like, take that most recent upvoted negative review. That guy spent more time on his formatting than getting the message of this game across. Which is this.. while not a AAA title, it's surprisingly polished and flashy with a good spectacle feel, that also preserves and showcases the character and lore of Warhammer Fantasy very nicely. Its trick of allowing free movement between builds within a successful framework of ARPG progression is alone enough to recommend the title to ARPG fans, with the good gameplay making it enough to recommend to anyone else.

Not a big fan of this game. Way too easy and repetitive at least in co op. Story is pretty dull blabla evil blabla stop the eeevil bla bla. Go to sewers... Go to forest... Go to sewers... Kill rats...

It's really buggy, it also sent me back to the exact same dungeon twice in a row, I don't know if it was a bug or the way the game progresses. Either way we had already had several bugs at that point, so we moved on. I have no idea how this gets a good review from anyone.

I picked it up in the sale, and I'm enjoying it. At "normal" difficulty it is ridiculously easy, and it gets easier as you progress not harder. So set the difficulty harder as you go to maintain the challenge (and you get better loot as well). It's not PoE, much simpler and easier to grok. But that's no bad thing.
Edit after reading some of the other comments: I haven't found a single bug yet, and it's a bit of a Ram hog, but not *that* bad.

I bought it on sale and i'm in the last chapter after 11 hours. I think the base game is worth it, not so sure about the slayer edition because it doesn't add very much for the price difference.
I encountered absolutely no bug, a mission loads in about 4 seconds with 4k texture, maybe 1.5 seconds in 1080p, using a regular ssd. My ram usage is 6gb out ouf 32gb and task manager says 1.7gb for the game so i don't understand the claims about ram usage. 2080ti usage is about 50% in 4k ultra.
I agree the game gets easier as you progress but i prefer this to enemy scaling like in borderlands, now i just skip the mobs, just kill enough to replenish my blood thirst gauge, and rush to the bosses, else the game would be tedious.
once you've done the campaign there is some additional gameplay modes that are fun in short burst.
