In this context, I do like the idea of a Pet like in Torchight as you mentioned. Still feels like you are are a lonely warrior, but with a pet that can assist you somewhat. I'd be happy to have any option available and to be as viable: having a pet, or follower or going totally solo.

no i am cause i dont played the game idk but many say the game is even on hart very easy
but ofc mercs would be not only cool for making things easy but for fun and management
i mean why not it could help with the fun for example i have this EA game deep rock galactic a coop game wich is not so much fun in coop like with my minig attack drone in solo play
