How to get green items?
We are in full red sets currently only able to clear chaos 5 grand relic hunts but with difficulty; we die multiple times getting through it and have to change our tree for more defense, meaning it takes forever to kill the boss at the end just to get maybe 3-4 red drops.

When do green items drop, and how are you even supposed to make it?

It's apparent this game suffers from very obvious balancing issues between difficulty/drops and attack/defense.

LOADS and LOADS of grinding... ive spent around 60+ hours on getting 4 greens, and im stuck on chaos 3-4 on elessa poison build.
RNG is a real.... you know.. female dog

If you're taking forever to clear, you'd be better doing lower Chaos levels. You should instakill most enemies except elites, and the boss shouldn't be much of a problem, otherwise it won't be worth the extra time you put (unless you enjoy the extra stress).

It's funny because for chaos 5 you'd probably need green weapons to get faster clearing. Until that, you can just try to get better rolls, optimize your god skills and gems (I suggest 2% crit chance on all equipments, and as much crit damage you can get from god skill passives), and stick to lower chaos.

I've dropped a good amount of greens on Chaos 4/5 doing relic hunts, but there's a caveat: to increase the drop rate, you can add extra local players of the same class (their level don't matter).

For that you'd need extra joysticks for each additional local player (or if you're playing on joystick yourself, you can add a player on kb/mouse by pressing space).

If you create a level 1 character of the same class, you'll get double the loot, and half will be assined to that new character, then you can just drop the items you find interesting. You can also equip additional passives to increase XP, loot and stuff for each additional player.

If you add local players, you can even decrease the chaos difficulty (as it'll make the game harder, and either way you'll be increasing your drop rate a lot).

That's my secret, I'm always adding 2 local players: the same class if you want to increase the chances of getting upgrades for your character, or different classes if you want to get loot for them without any trouble.

I'm 60+ hours in with my "knight", and only lacking 2 greens (ring and set boots), but either way, I've been really lucky to drop exactly the set I use (some have bad rolls and stats as well, but that's life).

I've managed to get 4 greens on one match with 2 additional local players on chaos 4, but that only happened once. Most runs end up with 0 greens, 1 at most ocasionaly.

I also reroll a lot of stupid relic hunt debuffs before getting started to lower my chances of getting killed.

EDIT: a few more hints to perfect this "Local co-op" farming:
- avoid droping items on the ground to trade, sometimes they just vanish. Use the stash to pass item from alts to main
- additional players idling will start following another player who's moving, so it's generally fine to let them alive following you without any inputs
- you don't need to keep the alts alive, you can let them die at the beggining, so that the camera will work better, and you can even rush. They'll even get XP while dead.
- remember to equip passives on them. Mainly guild passives and fan passives to increase the loot and give additional xp.

Hi. I am also playing with the "knight". At the moment i can clear quite fast up to chaos 1 but at chaos 2 i start getting slower and slower and sometimes i have to rez in order to complete the run.

Can you please share your built, including god skill tree? I am reading around for some ideas but mainly finding old builds as from september patch it seems they changed skill tree and set bonuses.

Many thanks in advance. :happyelf:

Sure! Thought of doing that as a guide, but I guess it's pretty straightforward.

Socket red + triangle + yellow + triangle + red on each side of all items, try to get 2% crit chance on each.

Skaven set, shotgun build. The best energy spender you'll have, and very energy-efficient as well. Seems the best set by far from what I've tried.

That meteoric shield is also perfect: it gives slow and some nice damage around. In lower levels it can "clear" the game for you if you have enough damage. The "constant slow" it gives will increase the damage output from your set bonus and from your shot skill as well, so it's a win-win. Try to keep enemies in mid-range, specially bosses, to keep them getting the slow from your shield.

Weapon is debateable, I'm not a huge fan of any of them. I had that one that gives +100% damage from taunted enemies, but I haven't been able to get a green of that one.

The first armor set I've used was Meteoric, mainly it consists on taunting when having 10+ enemies to give +500% damage, using the 2 damaging skills with CD and some charging around, it was really cool and high damage, but lacked the power to kill bosses (as the taunt buff don't give much damage without many enemies around). Haven't even tried the other 2 sets, but I really doubt they'll do more damage than Skaven set.

Skill usage:
- Break Through the Ranks to move around quickier.
- Pistolier is my main damage dealer, preferably using it at mid-range.
- Banner of the Empire - Superior at times, mainly against elites and bosses to boost damage.
- Justice of the Empire - Mastered can be used to kill enemie seldom, mainly to knock them back if I get overwhelmed (hardly happens)
- Taunt - Superior to get energy boost in case it drops - rarely does, only after long travels without killing enemies while using Break Through the Ranks too much without engaging

Besides Break Through the Ranks and Pistolier, everything else is optional. There's even an active god skill available on my tree, but I didn't try using it at all, haha, I guess I could fit it for tougher fights and lower the ranks of other fillter skills.

Passives are also pretty free, except that god skill that converts block to crit, it roughly increases my damage by 50%, it's too OP imo.

I'm also using a passive to increase energy gains, I don't know if it's really necessary, but with it I have basically infinite energy.

Just an update, I played normally online hosting a public match (no local players), playing about 1 hour chaos 4 and 1 hour chaos 5 with 2 players, and got almost 80 items, 6 being green, and the rest red - one of those greens being an upgrade in the end.

Many thanks for the info! :happyelf:

Looking forward to team-up sometimes so you can teach me some trick to play the class!

You're welcome, tell me if it works better.

Sure, though I don't know if I can teach much besides theorycraft on character building, as it feels like this build is the most straight-forward in the whole game haha.

Anyway, I removed the energy gain passive and put the one that gives +10% damage from having the a banner skill equipped, never really starved out of energy without it, so it was worth it.

The active god skill you get on my build is "good", but useless once you get 80% crit chance (since it gives +10% crit, and I doubt it'd go over the cap, I'd need to check), so I didn't bother using it.

Many thanks Darkness for the build (and the gear :happyelf:). Now i can beat chaos 3 and just got the achievement for beating a boss in chaos 5! :FireStrike:

I also solved the mana issues, and hope i can help more in our next runs! :P

I know this is threadomancy, but in case others are asking, this info is for 2021. I have an almost complete green kit for Elontir with my fave set (the loremaster). It took a few hours of grinding the tower of chaos. I've noticed higher drop rates for reds and greens. Reds more common than greens and this was also achieved on normal, it's probably faster at higher difficulties. Still I agree with the others, RNG is the main factor, it just seems that the tower allows for increased odds. It's def better than grinding boss rush or relic hunt

I find the chaos levels have ZERO balance between them. Obviously mobs are harder on chaos 1 versus chaos 9 but loot drops are no different. I have 10 runs on each chaos level and my best loot drops were on chaos 1-3 while chaos 9 yielded 2 rare drops in 10 runs. That makes zero sense and no i don't want to here ♥♥♥♥ about RNG because at chaos 5+ you should be getting a solid 6+ pieces(per run) of rare or better to sift through for stats. Not hoping 1 piece drops. Solid successful ARPG's do it this way and the bad ones do it like this PoS game does.
i use ranger a lot and i use a summoners build and im able to clear chaos 6 with ease

why would you want more yellows? reds and greens are far better than rare im on chaos 7 and i get almost nothing but heroics and sometimes 3 greens in a single run i have gotten a total of 8 greens in 1 hour on chaos 7 so the increase in chaos difficulty does increase the chance of higher quality items to spawn
