How do you join a friend's game in online coop?

Can't seem to join up with a friend on online coop? anyone know how to do this properly? we try to invite each other but nothing happens.

The other person has to be out of the game when you invite them through steam. When they get the invite on steam messenger they can click on it, it opens their game and they join your server.

correct, thats our solution too everything else didn't work.

Devs need to do something about it :(.

I've tried this with my friend and when I try to join his game or vice versa I either can't join or the quests can't be completed

1st no private steam profile 2nd Who ever is hosting needs to be in game, hit esc select online game, then select friends only or public, then select invite. 3rd. The person not hosting needs to be out of the game (closed) waiting on the invite thru steam chat, you will see a invite double click on the host name it will enlarge with a text box and you'll see the launch button

make sure you both have it set to friend only or public before inviting each other.

Still wouldnt work, Husband and I have refunded both our copies since we bought it to play together and can't.
