Maersi Key
There´s a key that could be found on Maersi - has this one any purpose or is it just an item that could be traded to Tapi?

The items you can find are random in any playthrough - that said you technically could try that key in some doors later, but it is not going to work and there is a good chance that key snaps. So don't hesitate to trade it or give it to the museum, once you got Huang's help with any inscription it might have had.

Thank you!
Tbh, I´ve hoped that it would open up a new location I haven´t seen yet. I´m currently on my thir playthrough and still under the impression I´m missing something.

I have found a couple of keys on my journeys. At one point the door at the top of the stairs on the market moon allowed me to try to unlock it with one of the keys I had found, but it just broke. That's the only time I've ever seen the option to try a key anywhere. (I'm on...I think...my fifth play through)

Well there is one key that is not random - it will be given to you by someone with the request to find the door where it fits. (This event might not trigger depending on chosen dialog options.)
But you'll know to hold onto that one key until the time comes to use it.

Why would you actually use that key, though? It doesn't even open the door it fits in, and using it just wastes time in a scenario where you really, really don't want to do that.

Personally I keep all keys, just because I hope that one of them might lead to something interesting eventually. But at this point I would be surprised if that actually happened. I have found keys that fit into locked doors, but none of them actually opened anything.

@Psyringe: Using the key unlocks a new dialog option with the person who gave it to you. Might be personal preference, but I deem that dialog more important than just another artefact.
