If you have a companion already out in the wild with a full army, the only thing I can do is to pull them back to my army so they give up all of their soldiers, then give them the units I want them to have manually. It seems there's a limit on how many troops you can take from them which is why I do it that way. Once I've built up a good force of level 15 and well equipped troops I'll usually send them to a companion and then re-build my army, rinse and repeat.
2) after that i let him counquer a town. i take him and all his soldiers from town-garrison into my squads and heal all in the hospital.
3) now i let the town free of any defence-garrision and some random enemy invade the town.
repeat...
you can attack a town with different companions at the same time. if you use that system with 3 ore 10 companions you can get extremly fast many soldiers.
maybe that are not the best soldiers but that huge amount of soldiers overhelm every enemy.
im more disappointet that im not able to recruit over 100 soldiers in 1 second like all my companions. even simple militia-units are limited ca 10-20 in every town.
I have tens of millions of faction money, but my companions still hire militia
What stats does your companion have. If i remember correctly they can change the
quality and quantitiy of the troops they hire.
Leadership & tactics are at 10,
Financial & city are at around 5,
medical & marching are low (1-3)
In my observations, this skills are irrelevant. All companions generally hire one and the same types of troops - militia one.
