City Management
City Management is at the moment very opaque to the player. The only inputs are garrisoning soldiers, determining tax rate and constructing buildings.

Buildings have effects on city status variables (security/military, business, happiness etc.) but apparently only a one time effect at the time of their construction. Daily events happen to the cities without apparent reason, a city which had immigrants and happy populace constructing buildings more quickly today may experience riots that destroy buildings day after tomorrow.

We need more insight into what is happening why and more options to influence things, e.g. stationing "non-Bandit" garrison (perhaps create a "police" troop type) provides daily effects on security, have a "trainer/drill instructor" troop type which "grows" recruits in the barracks and/or raises the experience of garrisoned troops until they get a "free" automatic promotion, be able to inject money into the city happiness (for "feasts" or to provide a subsidy to population) and business (investment incentives), have all buildings generate daily effects etc.

I guess the problem is the uncontrollable immigrants. The happiness and other factors are influenced by population. Even when players made citizens feel good it would also draw a strong attraction to immigrants and after a few days it would be problems. The other problem is that the maximum land construction wouldn’t support the maximum population, which means the whole city would end up in chaos at a matter of time. In the version for now it seems to need at least four times of building effect to balance that trend.

Maybe a wall could fix it.

My city just has buildings destroyed and disappear, it is constantly under attack and it´s impossible to advance with the city development. I´ve built a school twice, both gone.. tried to build a garrison 3 times.. gone before finished etc. literatlly just goes nowhere.

There's a SNC Lavalin joke in there somewhere...

Is there even a point in captureing citys ?
Seems like there's no way to hold onto a city no matter how many troops you put into it.

I love where the concept behind city management but it needs a lot of work. I've spent massive amounts of time and money collecting resources and trying to build the required building to no effect. Every time I make progress in one area there's a riot/terrorist attack/fire/robbers or something else that destroys my buildings. No matter how many resources I devote it's all destroyed as fast as I can build it. It becomes a frustrating and futile game of whack-a-mole.
I'm looking forward to the potential that the new system offers but in it's current state city building seems pointless.

Same here....good lord its ridiculous...I can't maintain more than 1 building because every time I walk across the map to grab more resources by the time I come back to my city at least 1 building has been destroyed. seriously ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ annoying.

Random events that destroy buildings need to be removed or have actual causes...right now it's insanity and not fun or manageable in any way.

And to clarify...I literally have only 1 city right now. I had an event right after I built it that wiped out 3 buildings in one go.

I can't even imagine having multiple cities
