Just to verify - the "sight range" of the NPC / troop is unaffected by scopes or binoculars equipped?
Correct?
ah, I am indeed! ( night vision / night raids ) - just gotta be wary of the foes that have night goggles too!
I do miss the field "medic" troops you could promote some of your troops into - using the medic kit-
now it's more a personal trauma kit ( and 'healing potion' )
Anyhow, yessir, Mr Bart -
very fond of those same tricks <o -- and TY
Yes, as far as I know those stats stay the same even if you give them scoped weapons or binoculars. So no need to buy your troops expensive accessories.
I try to get an NV and a First Aid Kit for all my troops, and also give an NPC Grenade Launcher to the ones with higher Launcher skills, or Smoke/HE Grenades to the ones with high Throwing skills. ;)

you gonna just bleed right out before we can drag your sorry ass to triage.
Don't cry for no " medic" - she can't upgrade into that anymoar
anyhow, yes, I'm with you on all of those - very fond of my grenadiers; payback, Mr "IED brotherhood".
- and do not miss the old Uman launchers at all ;) - or something like that - they're still right horrible.
... funny thing about frag ( not HE, btw ) grenades:
"ain't no fun / when the rabbit has the gun" ...
used to use Valkyries as recon - when they were new- amazing sight and default night vision.
High tech!
I tended to favor the Dragonuv Designated Marksman ( SVD ) - for the scope, thinking it was helping them XD
well... dang. Still gotta love 'em.
however, reason i wondered was;
I didn't recall being able to slot 'binoculars' for an NPC before - either I forgot or just missed a few patches, thought I may have missed something
