I guess for the time being when the town is under attack I'll have to empty the garrison until they fix this issue.
Veteran elites can cost up to 200 per day while newly leveled up elites only cost 30 something while the benefit is very minimal. I'd rather retire them in the garrison as soon as they level up.
If the town they're in are attacked while I'm on the world map, chances are I'm going to lose those elites currently healing in the garrison since I couldn't absorb them in my main army due to squad limit.
I guess you could go full guerrilla and avoid capturing town altogether. Instead keep whittling down all the major factions to the point the only army they have left are the ones garrisoned in their towns but then again the bandits and deserted armies will rule the map.
The cost of maintaining the same elite guerrilla squads to go through all that without swapping them or retiring them to the garrison will be exorbitant making it impossible to continue without money cheat. It's a no win situation. Unless you're sticking with militia only squad and constantly trading them as soon as they level up for new militia squads.
A battle against 100-200 AIs with nothing but militia squads is an interesting challenge I guess. LOL
Now CFR is completely out of the picture but FCA keeps sending their troops to attack my town. I managed to capture their last general by defending my town. I'm slowly eliminating their roaming squad one by one before taking the fight to their towns.
I noticed that ARF is a bit hostile towards me when I play earlier today. I didn't remember ever getting into a fight with them. Maybe one of their squad attacked one of my towns and lost so now they're mad at me? Sometimes when defending I didn't pay attention to who the attacker was. Since I'm not ready to fight them yet I just pay for the truce.
