I think that a new item should be added tents. And basically if you get sir number of them you can build your own camp. This will come in handy when you don't have a town of your own and really the only benefit will be that you can store items there if you have to many or if you want to lower your weight to move faster you can store it in your campsite. and give you the option to leave a Garrison behind. So at least it's something until you can catch your own town. Perhaps maybe even build a few small buildings like a medical Bay. Maybe allows you sleep like a bar would in a town

The Viking expansion for Mount and Blade had this, it was a really nice feature

I was thinking with your own camp let’s you have the ability to build your own clinic not a full on hospital but at least something. But since it’s makeshift and a tent let’s say it given to you a limit per day in how May soldiers can be cured not only that because it’s smaller and resources including meds are less available it will cost you more to use the clinic. A great in-between unroll you capture a town of your own. You could assigned a small garrison with limit of how many. And since it’s not a town you should be able to assigned a companion to guard it or as mayor

I've just been using the medkits I loot in battle to heal my wounded troops up. Smacked myself on the head when I figured out you could do that, don't think it was listed anywhere, but you go to the troop inventory, hit the "use" button, and select a medkit... Boom, healthy trooper.

You can have units eat food too to heal and increase morale.
