Arcade
I just noticed that the brick houses have a few variants with 'arcade' in them now, and curious if anyone has built them yet? It says in the description the arcade versions also has a store in them. The little pictures look pretty cool, so I'm looking forward to building them.

So what are special with these arcade buildings, please? I suspect they don't have a game room with Pac-Man and Space Invaders arcade machines in them? :steamsunny:

Anyway, I'm getting ready to build my first brickhouse soon, and wondering if it's worth building one of these first. How many apartments do they have?

:laughing_yeti:

I don't think that they got their name from the arcade video games, but it refers to the "passage" in front of the houses.

But I must admit, when I first read this word in the patch notes, this was also my first thought (that's how a gamer's mind works :happystar2022:)

I haven't built them yet, but you can see the arcade passages in the front area on the picture:

Built a few of them yesterday. I like them. Though to build authentic blocks we will need some corner houses with arcades too.

I completely missed that, thanks!

Thanks for sharing this  So it looks like the large ones (3 storey) have 5 apartments, like the normal ones with a store?

And yes, it looks like for now they will look best when standing in a row without corner houses, which will be my first build now :steamhappy:

3 apts in the 2 storey and 5 apts in 3 storey. Both have shops on the first floor.

Thanks. Built the first one now. Had forgotten how long it takes to make enough bricks when first starting out with a low population (I had 4 brickmaking buildings in my last game)

Makes them look extra good after all that work!

Has anyone noticed that the new 3 floor arcade rowhouse is a little more sensitive to the dreaded "Uneven Terrain" alert than the standard 3 floor rowhouse.

Just deleted a planned Standard 3 floor rowhouse and tried to replace it with a Arcade 3 floor rowhouse in exactly the same location with no luck. Tried the Standard again and it fitted perfectly.

You all probably used logic and didn't make the same mistake as me, but I just wanted to warn against putting too many benches on the 'arcade' side of these buildings.

I noticed I kept getting a lot of white lines from an arcade apartment building, and it was because I had 4 benches in front, so they couldn't get out :lunar2019deadpanpig: I had built normal apartments on each side of the arcade one, so they couldn't get out on the sides either.

When placing the buildings, there is only the one 'green' entrance marker on the footprint, so I thought they only used this part to get in and out, but looking at the building up close, I see there is a door on the arcade side as well, which makes perfect sense, of course. Also the store is on that side, I suspect.

Anyway, removing some benches solved it.
