I don't think that they got their name from the arcade video games, but it refers to the "passage" in front of the houses.
But I must admit, when I first read this word in the patch notes, this was also my first thought (that's how a gamer's mind works
I haven't built them yet, but you can see the arcade passages in the front area on the picture:

I completely missed that, thanks!
Thanks for sharing this
And yes, it looks like for now they will look best when standing in a row without corner houses, which will be my first build now
3 apts in the 2 storey and 5 apts in 3 storey. Both have shops on the first floor.
Thanks. Built the first one now. Had forgotten how long it takes to make enough bricks when first starting out with a low population (I had 4 brickmaking buildings in my last game)
Makes them look extra good after all that work!
Just deleted a planned Standard 3 floor rowhouse and tried to replace it with a Arcade 3 floor rowhouse in exactly the same location with no luck. Tried the Standard again and it fitted perfectly.
I noticed I kept getting a lot of white lines from an arcade apartment building, and it was because I had 4 benches in front, so they couldn't get out
When placing the buildings, there is only the one 'green' entrance marker on the footprint, so I thought they only used this part to get in and out, but looking at the building up close, I see there is a door on the arcade side as well, which makes perfect sense, of course. Also the store is on that side, I suspect.
Anyway, removing some benches solved it.
