Resource Editor / Trainer / Monitor [alpha 5 patch 9 hotfix 27]
Hi All,
I have created a working resource editor.

Features:
  • Find and edit resources in storage and some other buildings.
  • Edit/add resource in individual building.
  • Maintain resources automatically as per rules specified.
  • Monitor resources in storage with charts. Charts can be set to show data of upto 2 hours (real time, not game time). Also charts can be saved manually or automatically on exit.
    • Just hover mouse over pie chart to see details of resource.
    • The duration of charts can be modified in settings.
    • Just click on any resource in "Storage Details" window to see its chart.
    • Option to save charts on exit/manually.
  • Set Stone and limestone in deposits to desired values (use maintain to keep constant).
  • Set capacity for each building upto 10x times.
  • View current Workers/Laborers/Animals in a building.

INSTRUCTIONS:
  • Create a new directory at any location of your choice. This is not required to be in game directory. Copy zip file to this new directory. Extract the zip file contents in this new directory.
  • To launch tool, run "Ostriv_Resource_Editor.exe"
  • Launch Ostriv
  • Start or load a new game.
  • Now from drop down list of buildings, select desired building you want to edit resources in and click on "Search"

NOTES:
  • Sometimes UI will be messed up or no update will be shown. Just do a maximise/restore operation on window to fix it!
  • The tool creates temporary files. So it is advised to put the tool in a separate folder. The files it will create (and deleted on exit) are:
    • x64/Sqlite.interop.dll - library required for saving user settings
    • Ostriv_resoure_editor.exe.config - this is required to save window position
    • Ostriv_Resource_Editor.userpref - this file is a database file that saves default capacities of building and resource amounts.


Since the tool modifies the memory of Ostriv, it is being flagged as virus/trojan. Please add the location of file/folder as exception to antivirus.



Please let me know if some issues are found.

I have just created it for fun (and because I was not able to find a cheat table for it). Let me know how you like it :).

.. as an "anti-clamp" / "anti-handcuff" tool, as Ostriv badly needed it after version 4.x. This is of course "my" opinion.!

The last thing Ostriv needed is to be *more* ..(ehm).. "challenging", under its current state.

As late Queen Victoria once said, "Colony building is very trendy these days" :))
so the approach of :

could be a real obstacle in front of the "Vision Philosophy" of Ostriv,
a Game whose pretends to rule the World (one day)
with all those current and future competitions.

I know and appreciate the fact that, until now.. Ostriv is developed with sentimental approaches,

on the other hand,
the "Vision" should stay.. and be protected in an : ice-cold-blood enveloping.

otherwise, some + most : side-slips and stagger-y wobbles
can't be avoided.

Advocation of the (trainer) use or not,
is / will be an endless chatter in my opinion.

because:
Each & Every player should be in total freedom (edit: also with trainers or without) to express her/his playing style with very own personal priorities to justify the time (and the Money.!) invested in Ostriv.

After all, this is "Very Capitalistic" ecosystem, here in RL, this fun-business;
if one is not living in a romantic "Fairy-Tale".

This called "Fun Factor":

I will soon update it to add below :
- Add camp storage to list of searchable building.
- Clear a resource (Set it to 0) . The game doesnt allow to just remove a single resource yet.
- Change storage capacity.
- Allow set/maintain/clear all resources in currently selected building.
- Allow user to capture crash log on failure. (there may be many as the game manages its resources dynamically and the tool needs to continously update.
- Most importantly Add a resource to building. Going to be a bit tough.

I wished to be informed about "Well" asset/ element.

As obviously known,
the "Water Table" of the 10000 x 10000 (pixels?) dimensions Main Map, recently received some "well-proximity" limitations,
about Well-water capacities (usage drain+replenishment rate/time) and drinkable quality changes too.
(i.e. being close the riverbed = not drinkable)

I think this is related to the "altitude = Fifty Shades of Gray, on map files" where the specific Well Construction Site is.

on this point :

At "Lower" altitudes or closer to the (river/lake water level = very to medium dark gray tones), is not drinkable (just for animal husbandry use)
At "Higher" (or relatively far from the riversides = lighter gray tones), this is drinkable (for towner's use).

Now this is my question:

Instead of (to-be forced-to) build-ing 500+ wells for my current adventure towards to another Huge City :

under these Gobi-Taklamakan / Skeleton Coast water table conditions
+
in a geography where 3 to 4 months of the year passed under snow cover,

.. can I :
"- Maintain resource to given value."

.. at every Well (i.e.1000) too ?

................

As you see, I downloaded your Resource Editor / Trainer; but still not had occasion to see it in my Gameplay. I am very curious to check its functioning, very soon -- notably with these new "relieving" Capacity arrangements / regulations.

The biggest (not so desirable) hit of these recent "drastic" limitations (edit: Clamp-ed to the Game -- or/and made the Game Clamp-ed),
..was on the aesthetical appearances of the Settlement.
The reason/s are already very obvious.

Wells is possible. In fact i had made a cheat table for money and wells. You can check it out here:

Well, it's alright

I installed the assistant / helper and tinkered + tried most of its functions.. beside "Add a Resource" button, all working without any flaw.
Applied some of the settings, notably about Capacity arrangements. Excellent.!

So Ostriv joyfully regained its magnificent charm, this ambiance and atmosphere that shines with uninterrupted serenity...

like a square meal with all salt and spices "à dosage" : neither much, nor less ... in my own perception
and my game-playing pleasure with all the senses of the term.

Thanks Yevheniy, Ostriv is one of the best Games around, to play the way that I like most.

Thanks Leonidas, to make bring back the savour of my habitual Gameplay, this "essential" grain of salt, like having skin in the game.

I applied "Add a Resource" functionality at 1 empty Granary (@ 200k Capacity) and 2 empty Warehouses (@ 100k Capacity each) in close proximity of the Trading Post...
Total 18 slots = 18 different resources.

During the following few hours, *everything flawlessly worked, as intended.
Anything to report as problems, from my side.

I wished btw. to be informed if possible, about two details, please :

1./ Is it possible to add (scanning) Well/s to the Trainer? (they are numerous)
Increase Well water capacity to 2000.?
If scanning them possible, "Make them all full" + "Maintain" functionality / options can be brought with single button click.?

2./ Is it possible to increase Storage Capacities of :
Trade Post [(say) to 200k =like a 2x Warehouse, as showed its ground plan]
Trade Port [(say) to 200k =like a Granary]

Added well, trading port & trading post.

The capacity of well is 5000 but doesnt seem to be having an effect as of now. You can set and maintain value as desired though (max 20,000 as of now)

Hi again Leonidas,

If I don't miss something, I am (very) satisfied with the performance and capabilities & functionality of the Helper application.

In my current setup, there are 2 Wells (default 1000cap.) at a very crowded neigbour,
and 10 more Wells around.
12 Wells in total.
2 more Wells under construction.
These 2 "overcrowded" wells were always under 100cap. with red-down arrows (reserved commands).
So, when completely drained, the towners have to go (further) for other Wells at the vicinity.

....................

I scanned them, [with 2 more, still under construction-- scanning can "address" them too (y)]
Default setting of the Helper is 5000cap., I let this be applied.
So the water reserve jumped to 60k. for 12 Wells.
The Game addressed it.

While I currently set them .. to my (at first) big surprise, I saw a Well comprising 40 Nails.! :)
This was in fact, the Well-Construction Site with already nails carried.

5000cap. obviously means 50 water-takes (@ 100 each time)
The Helper can make/increase this until 20000cap. per Well (200 takes).

Still with "only" @ 5000cap.,
I observed in action these 2 Wells of the very crowded Central Place were drained to 3700 to 3000cap. during a period of more or less 20 real minutes Gameplay.

1300water to 2000water citizen usage (13 to 20 takes) without having to go to further Wells.

... with (under) lastly "re"-established Well mechanics and 1000cap. of the default Well Capacity:

Trading Post:

The info you gave at your blog page says the new established Capacity of the Trading Post is 150k,
but I see in my Game (with pleasure) that this is in fact 250k for the Trading Post too, like (River) Trading Port.

If it's possible, I (very) wished that it will stay like this at 250k Storage Capacity, for Land Trading Post.
Like HDD's on PC Computers, Always : Never enough Free-Space.! :)

Related to this, I used "Add Resources" functionality then, this time "right from" inside the Trading Post.
Filled the 8 slots with most lucrative cash-gushers, that made a total of ca.60k of Storage occupation, on 250k.

Then "Paused" the Game, closed the Helper and made a trial-Save.
Closed the Game, Reopened, and Loaded this save:
Either in Windows 10 Pro and with Windows 8 Compatibility modes.

Loaded and Played flawlessly, Trading Ox-Carts came and the deals were successfully + correctly done. No need a Money Helper at this stage.

1 hour more gameplay, build more and made other habitual Gameplay activities.
then
Paused the Game, Closed the Helper, Saved the Game, Closed the Game, Closed Steam, Restarted my PC, Restarted Steam, Launched the Game, Loaded the Save and Launched the Helper (optional now) and ... continued to play the Game.

All successfull, all with fun and satisfaction.
A real "Tutorial" session or/and an excellent "Sandbox MODE".

With your Resource-Editor and Trainer, and maybe with my humble Custom-Made Map trials, I am content one more time (again) .. to be in the pioneers of the Modding Circle for Ostriv.

With my deep appreciations for your impressive competence.
