please, please, please!!! we need the ability to MOD the game!!!
the only way this game will ever get finished is if the dev allows the community to mod the game. So many exciting features could be added by the community. This should be the next feature added to game, IMO.....

You'll get it, too, but not so early in development that the game is constantly changing and screwing up mods (and mods screwing up the game) and turning the workshop into a wasteland of broken and abandoned junk.

Trying to mod the game this early will cause a lot of problems, which a lot of people will associate with the game and result in unwarranted negative reviews. There is a cheat mod out there somewhere already, though.

He works on it all the time. It will be ok.

I think it would be a BIG MISTAKE to allow anyone other than the developer to work on the game. It will be like in Banished, there will be piles of mods that will come into conflict with each other, the game will be depersonalized and it will no longer be a game of developers, but of anonymous people !!!!!!

Yeah another banished is not needed.

Games with mod support generally seem to sell more copies, and have a longer shelf life. If you dont want to play with mods - dont play with mods, otherwise I say let others have their fun.

Yes, you're right, but the game will sell longer because of the mods, if I'm a developer I will not like this situation. People will start downloading old versions of the game from various torrent sites and then add mods to it.
The "spirit" of the game will be lost, mods with buildings that are not from the era of the game will appear and various fantastic inventions there, for example "the magician's house", etc.

It has always been the developer's intention to make the game moddable. There's nothing a modder can do to the game that's outside the spirit of it or the developer's vision for it or whatever for the simple fact that letting modders add their own ideas and wishes is as much a part of the game as thatch roofed houses and Slavic names.

I won't be installing any magician's house crap, Hello Kitty reskins or renaming all my townies Steve and Melissa, but if the ability to make those things wasn't part of the developer's vision he wouldn't give people the tools to make them in the first place.

Hello,

The Mother-Nature don't ever like any emptiness, and fills them every time by a manner or another.

Forum boards already give all the necessary clues for devs :
.. just needed to have time, motivation and energy to follow these "vectors" and resolve / optimize the equations.

time = manpower
motivation = professionalism
energy = knowledge.

Otherwise, the "spirit" risks to be jammed :
.. in a homebrew software / boring tech-demo .. not much offering for "Gameplay",
.. enveloped with loads of pretextes for every flaw / failure,
.. needs another "five" years, even to be able to "enjoy" the beta- phase,
.. with loads of fruitless / endless chatter to get nowhere.

This risks to end in a similar fashion to every case :
with already-well-known lifecycles : a wasteland of broken and abandoned junk,
without any mods .. in addition.

All the best wishes.

Currently "Spirit" is played by 200 concurrent / everyday players,
The "Magician House" : by 20 000 ...

.......................

Edit to refresh the numbers:

Currently "Spirit" is played by-"bye" 129 last hour / 185 last 24h peak
.. concurrent / everyday players,
The "Magician House" : by 28,568 last hour / 43,277 last 24h peak ...

I believe in the talent, aesthetic taste and abilities of the developers of this game. But even if they fail to complete it, it will be better for it to remain an unfinished game, but a beautiful one, rather than a degenerate copy of yourself!

You are of course free to "dying in style" ... in game terms .

but

it will be difficult to explain this for future clients.

I preferred to hear the same bold words from the developer himself.

As you know : "Hope Commercialising", .. ToS for Alpha Games etc.

If there are people who want to help the developer, let them contact him and offer him their services.
I think it will be better that way

I don't know why you think, that the developer needs help with programming the game.

He is constantly working on it.

If he needed help, he would ask for it.
sn_stoianov Aug 13, 2021 @ 5:32am
I don't think so, but because there are people who want to make mods, they can help the developer instead if they are in such a hurry or are worried about the fate of the game.
