What is the Eye of Truth?

I've started playing Wishing Night, and apparently you can't play on anything but normal mode until you unlock the Eye of Truth. Does anyone know how to do this?

if i remember correctly, you need to have both stats equal (the ones you gain from choices at the end of a battle)

is that it? I did eventually run into and even defeat the Eye, I just had no idea why it showed up the first time XD
