How do I give ammo to my NPCs ?
Hello !

After a moment in Solo campaign, the bots stop shooting.
I guess they ran out of ammo.
How do I give them some of mine, or tell them to pick up ammo on the ground ?

They don't have inventories like players, but simply looting lockers and crates will give them a certain amount of ammo, I believe 3 mags. This is the major way to give your bots more ammo.

Note that you need to loot the lockers yourself, it won't work if you send the bots to do it, or another player. For that reason it really helps to keep one or two armories stacked as you can loot them 10 times and every use restores ammo for your bots.

Also, your bots won't shoot enemies that are cloaked, like the Thanatos or Hunters

This is not true, if bot loot the locker they also gain ammo.

I do it all the time, as we go to mission, I send bots to loot the lockers as they'll just teleport to me and I See their ammo go up, just test it when you're in a game, you can see it happen.

Yes, I tested it. And no, the message "+1 primary ammo" only pops up if the player loots

Look at the actual ammo bar of the bots......

The message itself does not appear when the bots loot, but they do get ammo. Otherwise it would be really difficult to get ammo for the bots on higher difficulties, since movement and time is key to sucess.

Yeah, by now I paid really close attention to the ammo meter. Since there was never a message or a sound for that I assumed only my own looting counts. I usually do that myself while my bots are somewhere else to activate terminals or boot up power.

The 1 pixel increase in the bar is not as noticeable as a +1 PRIMARY AMMO-message... :D

Indeed, it's not noticeable by itself, and a lot of tooltips are not accurate, like radar terminal still says it gives sight and map detection of enemies, but it hasn't done that since the game fully released (when it started giving max energy instead), so I don't blame you for believing the popup text.

The easiest way to notice really is like when the bots are half empty or essentially completely empty and then you let them loot like 5-10 lockers and now they're all like 50% refilled.

Thing is, my bots use Vikings and ASV's, and either have the Heavy medal or Primary Ammo-upgrades, so their ammo bar actually never really depletes. Different story with Miniguns, Flamethrower or LMG's, but that's the reason why I haven't used those in ages.

Only looting yourself gives you that juicy message and sound that you gave them ammo... :D
