Worth Buying?
I played helldivers a few years ago, it was fun for about 50 hours with some tasty multiplayer quirks. How does this game compare? is it deeper or more shallow? what do you think the playtime is in hours before burnout? ty

I'd say RS2 has an advantage on loadout complexity versus Helldivers imo, with the suit modules and systems being a more traditional MOBA style ability system. Minute to minute it's probably shallower just because you have an auto-aim system imo. Burnout varies, personally I got burned out after 600-ish hours, but if I had to guess I'd say burnout comes in around 50 hours like Helldivers due to semi-random generation of maps and there being a decent amount of maps now.

Oh, coming from Helldiver? Red Solstice here plays different in the sense that you are not a one man army, you need your fellow marines, or bots, to survive.

Enemies are very aware of where you are at all times, so sneaking is pretty much impossible. The game has quite a lot to offer since there are several campaigns, classes and weapons, by now even vehicles if you have the DLC for it.

You can experiment for hours with the classes alone to find interesting combinations of active and passive skills, so it definitely has more to offer. For most people this game is actually even too complex.

On the easier difficulties you can run around with autoaim on and win with ease, but later on you definitely need to put some thought into the weapons and skills you bring.

By now I have a few hundred hours in this game, and I haven't even touched the campaigns yet. It is still quite entertaining for me since the teams you play with and the enemy waves you face are always different. You will definitely get more than 50 hours out of it... especially if you aim to play the highest difficulty, max all your classes and want to see every enemy, medals and endings

It's deeper but less polished. Overall I think it's very much worth it.

It's only worth buying during the sale especially with the season pass to get all of the DLCs. Be warned however that the game is riddled with inconsistencies (some bad writing, typos, wrong/unclear/hidden descriptions, voiceover dialogues not being accurate) and most concerningly, BUGS. Yes, whenever they update something, then something else is bound to break or introduce new bugs (as if they're always one step forward, one step backward). They do fix these over time but not everything that was reported to them.

Lastly, game balance for enemies is sometimes questionable or ridiculous. Always expect the unexpected. The gameplay also gets repetitive. In a nutshell, it's just "go here, interact with an object(s), go there, kill these and those, go over there and hold that area for 2 minutes, go there and pick up that item and plant it over that area, etc, etc".

Playtime burnout varies from person. I get bored and "burnout" after 200-300 hours or so as I've seen the whole nutshell of this game and the community. But the sheer diversity of being able to play many different classes and builds is what keeps me hooked and I believe that's where the replayability shines in this game.

If you buy this game, you desperately need a stopwatch on hand so you don't go over your 2 hour limit. If you're in a position where you're questioning the cost of the game, then avoid it entirely.

Very low pop is one of the main downfalls.

If you have Helldivers already, stick with that. FOR THE FEDERATION

It's an unfinished released game , when we prayed to have more fixes, balance and features for the vanilla game they were focusing DLC for more "content", in the end they just added more problems.

i wouldn't recommand the game right now maybe one day.

" Devs need money to devellop the game", but after more than 17months of release it's akward to be no where.
DLC bringed back people as long they were releasing them people lost faith in them and less people get excited when they only noticed DLC instead of true vanilla update to improve the quality life, balance, customisation, etc...

i hope we will get surprised in the future maybe ... xD

Buy it on discount. Player Base is low like the TRS1. Same like the previous, boring grinding for ranks and achievements. Very irritating when you are stuck on the same rank for months.
Campaign is super irritating as you cannot bring your own loadouts into the other players(host) campaign. Totally turned me off playing the campaign.

For campaign at least, it depends on which mode they set their campaign to, coop or standard, coop means you can't, standard means you can bring your skirmish loadouts into their campaign.

I have 90 hours in the game which i admit isnt that much but the game is 100% a completed game even with no dlc.

Yes, since no annoying screen pulling with the other coop players.
