Your thoughts about the weapon modding?
Since I see it barely mentioned: Here goes! What are your thoughts about the new weapon modding?

I absolutely love the addition of new weapon modes like the chemical bombs, the flamethrower or the warheads for the rocketlauncher, arguably the most fun addition ever.

But I also see some problems here, like the detriments of most mods that reduce the slotsize of weapons being the addition of energycosts per shot. Can we expect some more mods and changes to that system coming in the future?

Because if I want to make my Thunder 2 points cheaper I have to accept that EACH shot is going to cost 20 energy, and let's be honest here, that is simply way too much if you are in a pickle and a Thanatos just howled next to you.

So, are we going to see more mods that make your weapons cheaper, but give you different detriments, like slowing down firerate, making you slower or increasing aim time?

True, haven't thought about that yet, but since I use this skill only very rarely... I can't apply that very often. My Assault is usually equipped with the under barrel flamer, because that thing feels pretty useful in just about every situation
Underbarrel flamer is a great choice imo, innate punch-through for hordes, roughly 16 shots on a standard mag, a bit of DoT with the flames, overall one of if not the best underbarrel choice, with 40 damage per bullet consumed but unlike the Shotgun having innate punch-through, and unlike the Grenade Launcher having 40 damage per bullet consumed versus around 33 per bullet consumed.
and a biomass clearer, I have the underbarrel flamer on my speed recon and it gets the job done and helps clear hoards chasing me.
Overall really a nice mod. Would be cool if we could mod it for energy or freezing effects, but that would be a bit too amazing, I guess :D The GAR Burst is also quite nice if you need to be a bit ammo efficient in your fights.

While the GAR has some nice goodies, weapons like the Arclite or the Crusader don't get much or no support. Increasing the Arclite's damage doesn't affect it's burning effect, I think?

There is also another topic about the Crusader and some mods that would be really nice for it. Just imagine, instead of a cattleprod you could turn it into a flame sword...! Or well, a flamestick, I guess. Or modding the shield so that every melee attack eletrocutes the attacker. That would be neat
