This makes some missions completely impossible if the biomass has spread inside a building containing an objective because I'm the only squad member capable of targetting the biomass without killing everyone.
Edit : also do not do that inside a building :)
It's not impossible. bring weapons or play a class that can handle the threats you know your gonna face. It's a tactics game, get flexible and creative.
Pretty much this ^. Demolition skills can easily wipe Biomass, Rocket Launcher Secondary can be used in buildings without hitting the ceiling.(though watch the radius to not get caught)
Then there are lootables mid mission that can take out mass. Generally speaking Chain/Plasma explosive are the best for taking out Biomass(think you'd need 1-3) but you can make due with Satchels(tho I think you'd need ~5). Incendiary Explosives are helpful since it will deal more dmg than the mass's regen for situations where you don't have enough Satchels and need to use lesser skills/weapons, such as Grenades/artillery/etc.
Also note that simply touching the biomass on the ground(the "creep"/flesh like stuff) is what causes enemies to spawn and aggro to you at increasing amounts the longer you are touching it. Disrupters can be a major help for when there is a lot of biomass to get through when there are 3+ biomass structures/nests(things you kill to get rid of biomass). A Disrupter can make a small patch for you to stand on without causing more aggro/spawns. Alternatively you can place a few of them to try and "box in" the Biomass to prevent more structures/nests from spawning as, AFAIK, a new nest won't spawn if there is no way past the Disrupters radius.
actually just press alt over the thing u want them to attack and release - same as when u order them to loot a box or crate - it works contextually.
