game installs a trojan

Not sure whats its doing, but my windows says this game keeps downloading a Script/Wacatac.B!ml. Super weird.

I was getting that too, verified files and one was corrupt. Still could not play so I uninstalled and reinstalled and it was fine until I just fatal error crashed

I was getting the same thing it is the DefenseEvasion.A!ml virus that was being installed on my pc. I think the game has some trojan issues. Well so much for this game.

same problem here. can't finish update due to trojan. can't play at all now.

edit: i uninstalled and reinstalled. works fine now. will take advice from TamanduaGirl if it happens again. will update if it happens.

It's false flags. Steam doesn't let any malware and even say to use steam without antivirus software because it will make false flags and brick your games by deleting/blocking game files

Well i completely deleted every file from the game (including the game), but my anti-virus is still going off. Plus there's now a new trojan file that its picking up.

with me it also wanted to install something, was blocked by firewall, and then it wanted access to data, also blocked by firewall, the game should not be free for dl, there is definitely something wrong

See my post here. Ran the executable through VirusTotal and turned up negative. It's a false postiive.

Hey OP, we're verified by Steam and Epic, not only that but if we did somehow put a Virus into the game that would jeopardise our entire business.

If you are having issues, I'd suggest doing a scan of your PC, or seeing if your network is being hijacked

wacatac will infect anything on your pc, it's a ransomware that corrupts your files once you have it on your system. My guess is that you had it before installing the game. I have been infected by it a few weeks ago by a link in an email. i destroyed it easily with the native windows 11 antivirus (deep analysis).

If any trojan is being added, it's more likely the OP's system was already infected, and it's simply added that file to everything, everywhere, in it's attempt to spread.
