My bird disappeared...
I was playing multiplayer and had already tamed a bird. When my friend got a new bird through a quest, my bird disappeared and only my friend's bird remained. Can I only tame one bird per server?

Birds are known to take off and fly around on their own. Sometimes they get stuck on terrain, and you will eventually find them face into a tree, or a set of branches flapping away like crazy but not moving.

Also the possibility you parked it somewhere, like at the top of a great tree. If you move tree bases, the tames do not follow (or at least did not in the past). I would find tames I told to stay still sitting on old tree base locations.

Also, a possibility that it took off to fly around, and then aggrod on an enemy and got into a fight with it. I had a base near the spider matriarch, and my bird took and landed IN the canyon and picked a fight with the matriarch 2 times. Nightmare scenario. I killed the matriarch both times, but the bird took a lot of damage. I eventually moved bases because of this.

So, the bird might have died.

I have played on a server with at least 2 tame birds as recently as 2 days ago. However, no new ones were tamed during my time on the server.

He disappeared right before my eyes...
He suddenly disappeared from the party list too.

I see. So two birds can exist at the same time.
Would it be possible to tame each bird on a different server and then join them?

Yes, should work fine. If you're grouped up with a tame, it's part of your character save. When you join a different world, it should spawn right next to you.

Thank you everyone!
I tamed two birds again and got them at the same time!
Goodbye my $1000 :)
