can we feed pets?
ive just got my first pet which is the blue tit, i can see i can pet it to build up bond, is there any other way of building up bond points other then petting? like can we feed them, if so how do i do that as i dont see the option, and what do i feed them? is there a special food i need to make or can i just drop anything for them to eat or is bonding just done by petting and thats it?

You don't need to feed the tames. Tames will eat food in order to heal up, if their health is less then 100%.

There used to be taming treats you "fed" to creatures to tame them, but that was only to complete the process and make them yours. There was a different one for each specific tame.

But the entire taming system was changing and taming treats became baits used in traps, or hatching eggs in an incubator.

To directly feed you pet (only when they are not 100% health they will eat) simply drop something on the ground in front of them, gelatine, roach meat, bug lymph etc There are also recipes you can make that says "can heal creatures" in the description.

I was asking about the feeding more to speed up the bonding process, as I read if you don’t keep the bond up your pet can leave and it seems the only way to “bond” is by petting your pet, so I was asking if there was another way to increase the bonding meter faster

There's no mechanism programmed into the game for that.

My tames are all at 100%. I don't pet any of them. Many have them been parked near my main base forever, and aren't used at all anymore. I haven't had any run away.

Are you sure I just found this info from the taming update

Can you pet the bugs? Yes. You can pet the bugs.
This increases bond with your companion, and higher bond means they can take more and deal more damage, through the power of love and friendship of course.

If the bond hits zero, your creature may release themselves out of neglect.
your first pet is the blue tilt?

you skipped a lot of the game.

No there is. Petting does exactly what they said it does. As for them leaving if you neglect bonding.. Idk about that. I've never seen it go down, only up, and up provides perks.
My pet got 0hp now and just lay on the floor, doesn't eat anything
I set the "pet won't die" option in my world, but how can I get it moving again?

If you have done the quest where you kill the Rhino beetle for Skaldi, you would have the recipe for an incense that revives incapacitated pets. If you haven't done that yet, then I'm not sure if there is another way.

I just felt like I didn’t need a pet till I get to the blue tit bird I never felt I needed one in any fight or for any reason but I liked that the blue tit can fly around the map super fast
