Devs that include an "arachnophobia mode" need to replace the model with something else entirely. For example, look at the mod for Skyrim from a decade ago. It replaces the spiders with bears. Ever met someone with a phobia of bears like people have a phobia of spiders? There are plenty of options that would fit within the setting, and it doesn't have to actually be 100% accurate. Some of us are willing to accept a level of absurdity to avoid the unfortunate stress of dealing with a phobia as silly as arachnophobia (i have arachnophobia myself and i acknowledge it's silly to be scared of a tiny bug, but here we are...)
I've read from others that also suffer from this, and its not enough for them. Currently it only removes the legs and fangs, but the body remains. Combat wise, I think this mode is tougher because you can't see the legs to tell when they are about to strike, therefore can't anticipate when to roll.
Feedback has been left for the DEV with suggestions. We'll see if something more comes.
It took games to help me get over it.
Nowadays, I even pick up spiders I find in my home to put them outside.
It's pretty cool to find that my hobby helped me overcome it.
I forgot to add... It's good I overcome my fears as Smallands arachnophobia options
Err Well they are the things made of nightmares.
LOL
The spiders in here are a Joke vs Grounded. Not saying they are bad, just in comparison to the anxiety factor and aggression. Grounded Wolf Spiders are like Godzilla while in here are cute fluffy things you can tame.
Regardless the goal of this game isn't to imitate everything good in Grounded. It's to stand out on its own with its own thing in mind.
It's not even fully developed. The game is going to evolve into something more complex and different as the devs layer on content.
I ready someones Grounded vs This review and they were off.
Grounded is more polished, story line drive is better. The combat is better. (again its been out and polished. this game will have things to brag about soon enough)
