Poor documentation

There's virtually no guide to do anything, owls to the contrary. How to build a base. How to use a bow (doesn't work). How to equip arrows. Guess work and YouTube to make up for the poor design. On and on.

Theres been a million survival crafting games in the years it aint really needed anymore not to mention the gamne is only in EA still and literally just released

you have now tempted me to buy this game.

glad to hear we have to work out how to do things ourselves, instead of having our hands held all the time and being walked through everything.

Right-click to equip your arrows. I believe the tool tip shows at the bottom of the screen.

If you've played almost ANY survival game in the last 10 years you already know how to play. We all started this game not knowing the exact mechanics used but we manage to figure it out.

WOW!!! this game is like the rest you have to put in work and figure it out, its not that tough!! I didnt need to look up 1 video.

So what if it's EA? That doesn't somehow preclude providing info how to do things. I've played lots of survival games. That doesn't somehow preclude the idea for documentation. Expecting documentation on basics doesn't somehow require handholding. And there's no save game function.

You put bow on hot bar. Select it.

There's a spot on the paper doll in your inventory for arrows.

If you equip a bow, and have no arrows equipped, it pops up a message on screen telling you to equip arrows.

it is fairly self explanatory.

its a survival game. you are missing the point of it. ark just threw you on a planet with no directions. i guess ppl will complain about anything. this is one of the best survival games released in the past year.

Poor gaming skills is more like it.
Pretty much everything done in Smalland is common knowledge in Crafting/Survival games.
You say you have played many. Did you not learn or remember anything from them?

in your very own character crafting menu, there is an item that is literally labelled "builders hammer".

There was an option at set up to have tool tips on or off they probably ticked it off.

Well, let me be snide at this point.

You make a builders hammer, select it, hit right mouse. An owl tells you about this. On screen hints let you know this too.

This is INCREDIBLY basic stuff common to many many many other games. Very basic. None of these are new concepts.

If this game is too difficult, you may have to have a parent or guardian assist you with playing it.
