This also works on every...single...boss in the whole game. But other bosses at least chase you a little further. The albino only chases you like 100 feet.
Oh, okay I guess I'll try that. Do I need the special bow and fire arrows? I've tried killing regular beatles with arrows and it takes forever for them to go down, so I assume this will take ages.
Anyways, I'm gonna gear up and maybe make the thingy to craft potions first. Thank u so much for the tips Val!
Albino and Matriarch Spiders are resistant to Piercing Damage so Arrows and Spear will take a long awhile.
You need a good set of Armor. Chitin should be ok, but Regal is better.
Use Edged Weapons. Chitin Axe or better.
Get a few Poison Resist potions and a couple Antidotes.
Get some Minor Health potions and Healing Patches.
I was actually using the stone armor because I didn't wanna damage my bee armor set which took me forever to make. Would the bee armor set be enough or do I really need the chitin armor? And I'll craft everything you've mentioned first, before going in then.
I'll also try what Val said, just to see how long it'd take me.
Thank u for the tips OG, i really appreciate it!
I've noticed that the attack pattern of the albino spider is much harder than the rhino beetle. Especially when it does the stomp attack, it always gets me. I guess, I just suck that bad. Well, i'm going to try everything you guys gave me. Wish me lucks!
Thanks for the tip and a happy weekend!
My method isn't the "fastest", it's just an example of how easy it is to exploit the bad A.I.
I killed it with a flint sword, a poison resist potion, and honey healing wraps. You can run in, attack it, face tank it till hp gets low and then run halway outside the cave and he'll de-aggro you, then you can heal up to full, run back in and continue from the same point you left off. It's hp doesn't recover.
Poison resist potions don't actually make you take less damage per tick from poison, they just make poison stacks expire faster. (Poison stacks infinitely apparently. But always does a fixed amount of damage per tick depending on what attacks you. (Black widow poison is the strongest in the game.) So resist is good for making the poison wear off much faster.
I "overleveled", and went to the greylands to make bone armor. Got iron tier & chitin tier weapons too by mining scrap iron in the graylands.
Then I just facetanked the albino spider in a standup fight. Drank some healing elixirs occasionally, and meleed it down. Then since I had to right gear for the graylands boss, I went and killed the black hornet too. Multiple times. Just wanted a set of sapphire wings to put in a chest, after I made ironwing armor.
They really need to fix the boss AI, or give it some anti-kiting protection. Like when it stops chasing you, it heals to full in next 2-3 seconds, and then walks back to it's starting point (and it's invulnerable while walking back). That's pretty standard in a lot of game.
Either that or it just KEEPS chasing you. If you walk up to godzilla and shoot him in the eye, expect godzilla to get a little mad. It would at least make for some funny videos as people run halfway across the map being chased by a relentless boss.
Also, carabids are capricorns in game. That's another topic...
Let's not forget that Grounded has had a lot of polish and tweaking since it's Early Access beginnings leading to it's final full release. (With help from a constructive and helpful community of players)
This game has just started it's EA journey.
Also Grounded had Microsoft funding to play with, This game is a small indy-dev team.
Beyond the "small" theme, they are apples and oranges.
I used the bee armor set, 1 poison and 1 health potion, and the chitin axe
Take enough materials with you to place a crafting table, repair the armor before you fight the spider, and then repair it right after. Equipment that is only lightly damaged can be repaired without spending materials If you go in there with the equipment mentioned above, you should be able to kill it without taking too much damage to your armor.
yeah, how many _years_ has grounded been out since it launched?
And I played grounded on launch, and the combat was horrrrrriiiiibbbleeeeeeeee. Animations that didn't seem to connect, enemies rubber banding all over, etc.
Gee, kind of like some of the issues that this game is having right now.
Comparing a newly launched EA game that's been out for 5 days plus to one that's been out for several years isn't really fair.
