Where to find stone ?

Hello all,
I built a "home" far north, far from the mine and i need now stone.

I got back to the mine to mine stone with a ladybug. It was full of stone. But near my camp my ladybug disappeared and i lost all my stone.

I find this strange that the only point to have stone is the mine...

i looked for everywhere north east without success. Am i missing something ?
