why Iron Axe isn't a tool upgrade?
i just made one thinking it was a tool upgrade, it's not, it is a weapon :(

we get an Iron Pickaxe for mining, but the Iron Axe is a weapon is this a bug maybe? because there doesn't seem to be an iron version of a tree/plant cutting tool

i hope they see this. i just made us iron axes thinking it was the next upgrade since we get iron pickaxes. it just made logical sense. because we have a sword, sythe, and axe that does edge damage.

Yeah I thought the Flint Axe would have been better for Bark harvesting...

Axe is weapon. Hatchet is tool.

It’s pretty common sense. Just because YOU don’t understand it, doesn’t mean it’s not helpful.

Since the beginning of the game they have been called hatchets. Why would you think that an axe would work? Unless you didn’t read the actual item description, which is still ON YOU.

My comments have never been deleted. Sorry kid.

Learn how to read before making something. It’s your fault not the devs.

LIAR, your comments 4 or 5 of them were all deleted from a thread about the price lol after people put you in your place because you are a pathetic person with nothing helpful to say

I can literally take a screenshot of my community messages. None of my comments were deleted by moderators.

Stop deflecting and answer my question.

Who’s fault is it for not reading an items description?

Well irl a hatchet is just smaller ax with a shorter handle. The difference is weapon type axes are thinner and more easily damaged. You will destroy a weapon type ax or at least heavily damage it trying to use it to cut down a tree.

But game play wise I think it would make sense to combine them, especially with the limited inventory.

Or a more detailed video if people feel like it. I enjoy learning things myself. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UzGqmbfqF1w
I do agree a bit with the tomahawk. Actual axes for chopping wood have heavy heads to better cut the wood, you could see that tomahawk was barely touching the wood, though he didn't have great technique there either. Technically you could but would take a heck of a long time compared to a wood ax. The weight helps you get deeper into the wood and take larger pieces out to get the job done faster.

Well, regardless of whether it's called a hatchet or an axe,

all the tools say "harvest damage" in the description, right above the actual damage they do (which is really low, usually 8-11). No harvest damage, means no resource collection.

I do agree there's s huge gap in higher tier hatchets. People kept mentioning a "firestone" hatchet, but that turned out to be another term for.... sigh... flint. Apparently firestone might be a localization for flint in some other language.

There's nothing past flint. No chitin hatchet, no iron hatchet? correct? seems odd.

He shows a couple 2 handers and I don't think you can throw the battleax in this game so I'm not sure which your trying to refer too. A battleax would be a very awkward and inefficient tool to cut a tree no matter which you're talking about.

I also agreed with you though that despite realism it would make sense to have one do both things for the deficiency of the game. So you are angrily yelling at me because I agreed with you?

I believe the mystery (if one can call it that) is simply down to this being the first release of early access. I'm 111% sure we'll see upgrades of tools now missing once we get into the next areas of the game, that be Iron or maybe a jump to Steel or something like that.

I'm not angry at anything. That was a EUREKA thought when he mentioned tomahawks. We need thrown weapons. I already added it to the wish list thread. Don't be so sensitive, not everything is about you personally.
