Thanks for the answer/ reply! I appreciate it!
thank you for the update! I appreciate that! I haven't ever heard of this game until I saw it today, and it looks like a couple other games I really enjoyed so I was contemplating on getting it to see how it is. would you recommend?
So I tried the Royal and MetalWing armor sets which are the two with wings. They're both the same as far as gliding works, as far as I can tell. MetalWing has more protection though.
Gliding drains your stamina if you go faster, and slower if you pull back so you bearly go forward, mainly focusing on down. If you jump while gliding, you stop gliding and regain stamina while falling. Beware of fall damage though. You can regain stamina, then resume gliding. If stamina runs out midflight, you just glide slowly so it doesn't drop you down, which is merciful from the game.
Grasshopper jumps high, but you only get 1 jump per stamina bar. Whether your stamina is full or at low amount, you only get one jump before needing to regain stamina. It's good for jumping away from enemies, but beware of landing in water.
Wolfspider and Salamander can't jump, but they can climb same as Grasshopper. Spider is the only mount that lets you attack while riding.
Dragonfly mount (Damselfly or something) can KIND OF fly. While riding it, you're just hovering above ground, but it's essentially a terrestrial mount the same as the other ones, but since they fly, the animation is them flying above ground. You can use the jump button to "fly" which drains the stamina pretty fast. Once it runs out, you slowly descend. So it's more of a controlled jump in my opinion. It's nicer to climb than with the grasshopper since you can navigate where you fly to and descend, even if it's slower than grasshopper. While falling, you regain stamina similar to gliding.
The flying seems minimal since I couldn't even get over a cliff. I had to hover up the branch as if it was a land mount.
They all die pretty easily, especially since you can damage them yourself, so I always try and feed them after every battle so they can heal. They only eat when you're not riding them tho so I drop the food and wait.
