Can Lubber be tamed?

I found a giant (Yellow'ish) grasshopper on the beach that's called "Lubber." He whipped a roach's butt, and I'd much rather have him than my standard green grasshopper... but I don't want to release my current buddy if he's not able to be tamed. Any idea?

Hopefully it gets added eventually. They could make it harder to tame so it's special.

Also you wouldn't have to release your other grasshopper, you can have multiple tames, just only one active

There are higher level grasshoppers over in other parts of the map.

But they don't have that awesome blue/black and yellow coloring of the lubbers. Really snazzy combo.
