Ladybug Companion disappears
Hi, problem with companion ladybug.
when exploring it is often stuck in the scenery like when you climb tall trees, and sometimes it is killed or disappears without you knowing why! And you lose all the content and it is impossible to find the body and recover the stuff. It would take a marker when the ladybug dies to find the stuff.

Yes, if it dies or I presume is too far away, it is released indeed. While that mechanic is not without flaws, there should most definitively be a way to track down the body (agreed). :cqlol:

There is a whistle you can craft and it will bring your tame right to you! :lunar2020gigglemonkey:

I climbed the big tree to make my base there, the ladybug didn't follow me and then it disappeared, the whistle was useless, so I imagine it died somewhere at the foot of the tree. It's frustrating !

If it's alive, when you log out and back in it should spawn with you in your base. So next time if it gets stuck in scenery just log out.

I there a way to get the items back when they are released? I jumped over a stream while it was right behind me - the message appeard that it had been released and it was just standing there, without its backpack :(

They need to make it so when being endangered Lady Bug can escape by flying around out of harm's way (can't be damaged by creatures).

It's a survival game, ok, but pathfinding is not good right now, so there needs to be some room for the players to continue without losing their stuff like this.

Had a decent amount of my items on my ladybug. Scrap pickaxe, bunch of clay, chitin bow, stinger lance, and all because I fell into water and my ladybug decided to dive in as well.

+1 it really should use its wings to get to safety

I don't think I ever seen anything attack my Lady Bug. When I was building a second floor to my base I got the message that it had been released. I wish I had known this could happen because I loaded it with a lot of inventory for long journeys. It should at least drop a Lady Bug Grave so I can get my stuff back.

My lady bug is my favourite tame ive had so far I'm well impressed. It literally runs away when I start combat and then returns to my side when I finish.

Then if I use my wings to fly over a small river or something it will find it's way back to me in like 30 seconds. I haven't had a single issue with mine so far it's brilliant 😁

This is a gamming bug that needs to be fixed. The ai keeps getting stuck in random places and then vanishes. Logging out and returning to spawn does not work after that. It is just gone. I've lost my 3rd one now. This time I jumped on a lily pad and instead of gliding to it it tried to swim under and vanished. When I respawned it wasn't there. Maybe make the AI wait at shore when the player has no direct connecting path and then reappear next to the player when they are a certain distance away. And there is also a problem with the respawn mechanic. They respawn wherever your bed is - so if you have a bedroom in a nice house, then the ladybug is stuck inside until you tear the house down to get it out.

Yes, I had the same thing happen with a gecko. I had to remove two whole wall sections to ride it out of the room.

Three times now I have had to make the ladybug kit. This time I glided over a river near the beach and got the "your companion has been released' when it was right behind me up until that point. The ladybug is my favorite tame by far but losing a bug loaded with your gatherings is super frustrating. One time I killed it on accident because it got inbetween me and a gecko. After that I learned to park it a ways away from my target. I think tames should be exempt from damage though to avoid killing it accidentally.

i think it should uses it's wings to simply fly back to your base. Kind of like the cargo balloon from ark. Add a nest like structure that they home in on. Load them up, and "release" and they'd be sitting in your base at home when you return.
