Arachnophobia mode - Not good enough?
I'm not afraid of spiders, in fact I think they're adorable. However, my fiancee suffers from a pretty extreme level of arachnophobia. He isn't afraid of the legs, but rather the abdomen and the eyes - So the arachnophobia mode as it is just emphasizes the fear triggers for some.

I wish there was a way to toggle cubism or something for the spiders rather than having them be missing parts. I find he reacts less to spiders in games when they're blocky; and I feel this would be a better universal arachnophobia setting than ripping pieces off of the spider.

They just need to replace all the spiders with kitten heads. Meowing kitten heads.

But then people would start to complain they're afraid of kittens.

I was in the same boat with my wife. We saw arachnophobia mode in the settings and thought, oh that's nice. With a game focusing on realistic designs I would've thought the devs took it into consideration like other games have done over the past few years. After experiencing how their arachnophobia mode works, we went online and learned why it was implemented as such. There were many requests for a proper arachnophobia mode. However, It turns out the devs think they're psychiatrists and that arachnophobia is a big joke so all they did was remove legs(Which for most is actually worse). The community was all for it because of this stupid "I don't want my realistic survival game to be jeopardized for people who should just face their fears." mentality. I mean, the two posts above kind of prove that, jokers and smart asses.

Hey, I get it. it must be really annoying to implement something to make your game accessible. Am I wrong to think you want as many people as possible to purchase and enjoy your game? Why alienate people that have one of the most common fears in the world? Just some really backwards/(I know better than you) thinking and honestly, one of the main reasons why this game isn't as popular as it could be.

THANK YOU!!! I 100% relate. I asked the devs if they were going to add an arachnophobia mode and at first they said no. But then a friend of mine who kept playing the game long after I stopped (because I was the one who showed her the game and wanted to play with her but she doesn't have a fear of spiders) let me know they added a mode for this. So I went to check it out. It was TRAUMATIZING! Idk what the devs were thinking. Only removing the legs??? Spider legs are NOT the issue. Its they eyes and face and mouth and body colors, etc. I loved this game so much but I can't play it anymore sadly. I will have to stick to Grounded for similar game play.

Also, I think it's rude for people to comment so poorly about it in regards to your friend. He is not alone. And making small accommodations for real life phobias would build better rapport and offer more money in the devs pockets.

It's awful people are this heartless to people like me who suffer. I don't see how this could ruin other's experiences with their game if the devs only make the mode one sided much like how the game Grounded has done it. I can set the mode and it not affect anyone in the game but me.

If I could not get my brain to understand the difference between a game and real life I would figure I had a worse problem than spiders.
