When 1.0 released, they did it without enough testing, and should not have just thrown that update as the "Final Gold version" of the game like they did. So it has its fair share of bugs atm that should not exist in a polished release that has undergone proper testing and optimization.
They do plan on further expansion and mechanics and are pretty open about what their goals are. However, they are making a lot of stupid mistakes that a team/company of their size with their history should not be making. I would consider the game to still be in EA for the next year or so, even though the Store no longer reflects that.
wait for june update.
steam summer sale comes RIGHT after it. then get the game on sale.
I do a lot of roaming around in my own way. In any event, it should have been about 40 hours. My point is that to me, is a good amount of game time for the money I spent, and I didn't even make much of a build. I am a big builder in games like this (you should see my The Forest and Sons of the Forest builds..) that will probably put me well into the 80 hrs realm.
For the time I put in, plus the new content (which isn't that big, but its something) I would recommend, if you like this sort of thing.
I honestly don't get the new negativity, but that is just my $.02
I am enjoying it. The game is not without fault but it is still quite fun.
