Stink Gland Quest

Does the stink gland quest have to be completed on each character in a world, once on an account, or just once within the world. Does someone know the extent or limitations of this quest?

Pretty sure with each character.

I'm leveling an alt for intelligence, and he got the warning about entering sky predator territory. My main character already did the quest a long time ago.

Same world or different world?

The benefit gained by completing the quest protects the character in any world, but only in the space between the beginning areas and the Forbidden Monuments. Other areas, like over the water near the swamp, or in the washout next to where the Black Hornet is, are still subject to attacks by hawks.

I had just tested for different characters in the same world and found that it does not work. Glad to know that it works for different worlds and the same character though.
