My pet keeps dying.
Lol I’m so tired of leveling a pet then it dies for stupid reasons. There got to be a defensive mode or something, so that it doesn’t keep chasing after enemies. Setting wait doesn’t work sometimes, and it sets off everytime I whistle it. It’s harder for flying pet like hornet for example, when I whistle it, I can’t be quick enough to set it to wait because it’s above me.

Seems like you've been mentioned grasshoppers a lot. If it's a super low level one from the starting area, then it's not going to last long.

They aren't meant to fight. Just a travel mount.

Where are you taming the hornets? and what level are they? The ones from the starting area are pretty useless. You want one from forbidden monuments, that's level 96-100 right from the beginning.

If you're having trouble setting "wait here", then set it ahead of time. Leave it on "wait here" all the time.

If you use a whistle, remember that they show up set on "follow". Set them back to "wait here" again. It's gets set to follow when you ask it to join group, and when you log back in. Keep setting it back to "wait here".

Get out of the habit of using the whistle unless you absolutely have too. I only use to get landboud pets across rivers. I never bother with flyers. I just fly... across... the river.

or... alteranatively,

Get a scorpion from amber valley. That's a pet meant for combat. They are living tanks AND good fighters too.

Yea I lost my last grasshopper due to getting stuck in a stupid aloe plant (that thing is funny, it is not texture like other plants). I jumped it right into aloe plant and stuck, a lizard nearby killed it while me being mounted and stuck in.

So I got tired and pet a base lvl 10 hornet, all fine until I ventured near an enemy small folk camp in forbidden, then somehow it attacked them and I couldn’t get it back in time. I believed that it was set on “wait here” at the time. I’m mad because I leveled it quite a few.

Yea I’m gonna pet one hornet with high base lvl this time.

Yeah, in forbidden monuments you can get black hornets that start at the high 90's to 100. It will make your previous level 10 hornet look like a joke. I recommend looking for one with high stamina (on the bar graph when you use V antennae mode).

When their stamina is high enough, you'll be able to regen stamina while still flying. Regen will not start until stamina drains all the way to zero. Run it to empty by flying up, then watch it regen.
