Which great tree that is best location for building base?
I’ve been trying to find one that is middle of everything. My first base was due south of Drustana and West of Mushroom Forest (in far east), but I think that I got to move to West because of swarm, I don’t want to travel across the map everyday.

Great Tree bases can be built in whichever tree you have claimed. Claim a new tree and the base will move to that tree. I suggest claiming the tree closest to your current activities, knowing you can easily move it when your activity focus moves to a different part of the map.

Yea but everytime when you claim it, you have to claim to the top of that tree, don’t you? Or only just once?

You can move your treebase from tree to tree whenever you want. The only thing that would interfere is if another player in the game has their treebase there already. You'd have to wait until they move it somewhere else.

Also btw, your treebase is attached to your character, and would follow you to a different world. Which is super handy, but also something to be concerned about. When the game first launched there were issues where griefers could destroy people's bases when they joined a strange server. So if you aren't sure about the players on a new server DON'T claim and summon your treebase just in case.

Oh yea thanks for tip. I have only played single player so far, I would never want to play public online with strangers that I don’t know (lol who does that! Of course grifters everywhere, this isn’t MMO type game).

Once you have climbed to the top and claimed your first tree, you can claim further trees at the lower tree gnome. No need to always climb to the top.

Yea just tested this, that’s amazing, but at same time, I kinda wonder if this will change in future, like devs will force you to claim every great tree at least once before claiming it, otherwise, kinda wasted feature for building a path way up there for nothing. I still don’t complain right now though.

In my opinion, the devs appear far more reasonable than some of the players, and I don't expect them to impose a requirement to claim every tree. No-one wants the fallout from that.

The great tree moving base thing is an awesome concept. But I've noticed one big fact: There are NO great trees in the two new areas added, Forbidden Monuments and Amber valley. So for right now, it's a great feature for newer players, but you get weaned off it when you move onto those new areas.

When you get there you're better off making "permanent" bases on the ground. Which means you have to worry about possible griefing of those locations. I play single player most of the time, so no worries for me.

I actually ended up picking a specific great tree that's really close to the broken bridge leading to Forbidden Monuments area. I haven't moved my tree base since, and I'm actually slowly building castle walls around the base of the tree to make a safe area to park mounts.

If great trees get added to later areas, I wouldn't be surprised if we have to follow some new quest (or quest chain) to activate the new locations. Like "consecrating" the tree so the little tree butlers move in and bring their hot air balloons.
