As far as I can tell, it only exists in a single location, the south/southwest beach. It's a "very" dangerous area before you get the flint to make flint weapons, prepare accordingly.

Just north of Detroit in Michigan. (j/k) Irl, flint is found by breaking gravel blocks low % though.

Flint is located on the South beach area, near Skadi and the Rhino Beetle. It's dangerous, but doable in stone armor with a Stone Hammer and sword.

I found it far south of the spawn. just becaureful of the beattles and geckos
