Why can't we swim?
This is a huge problem. Grounded you obviously could. Now you've restricted a huge portion of where we can go and what we can do. Really bad. I almost want to return it.

We'd love to do more with this and it requires lot's of work, but we hear you on this!

"Huge portion" I think that is an extreme exaggeration. Grounded had a reason why you could swim, there were underwater labs and places to go. You don't have a reason to swim here. Nothing to explore or find.

Can't say I'm bothered at all about not swimming, in all honesty.

They are tiny insect like pixies. Most things that tiny can't swim. And as the Devs themselves say they lived under ground till now, why would they know how to swim.

They might add a mount that could cross water for you eventually but it would be a latter game thing.

Not much point to swimming really. There's no under water lab to explore. So you could cross areas more quickly and remove some of the challenge, that's it.

ok... kind of takes away from the fun exploration, though. They've restricted atmospheres.

You can’t get in a spaceship and explore space either. Better return it.

when winter comes the water freezes over and you can cross it

I guess my most bothered part of this game is that you can't rebind 1-8.

wow so many salty fanboy comments. OP has a point, there should be no reason why we cant swim.

many humans in real life cant swim, so why would you assume every creature ingame can. Dont forget they arnt tiny humans, they are seperate creatures, and not all creatures can swim. Not all creatures can fly, yet we have that ability in game, jsut htink of it as a trade, no swimming, but we can fly instead.

It's not a huge problem at all. Smallfolk can't swim!

Not really you can find way across all the "river" areas to other areas. You can go into the harder areas and get yourself killed at any time. If you don't want to parkour across rocks and can't find a log bridge, there's always building a bridge a cross a thinner area.

Because swimming is easy to learn, even for humans. Is that really your argument?

Not all creatures can swim or even learn to swim. Throw a tortoise in a lake and it will die.

Plus there's the whole water tension issue when that small. Once something that small touches water(if it's not a bug designed for it) it gets stuck and is very hard to get out. It's almost like a larger animal falling in a tar pit.

Not much water underground at the depth they lived at in all likelihood, other than seepage from the surface. The Small-Landers have lived underground for centuries, so swimming would be a lost skill. Their small body mass would suffer from hypothermia in water quite quickly, too, I would guess. No wonder they drown.
