What is the point of claiming a tree
I mean sure it's bug free but it feels more like a pain and really doesn't offer much advantage, unless I am missing something

Move it around the map as you seek better resources, take it with you when you play multiplayer, immune to player damage if set to Private... Those seem pretty advantageous.

I love my Tree Base. I love that I can move it to any Tree I want in my world. Plenty of room to build on it safely and I can access it pretty much anywhere I go :)

Some of the crafting stations require a lot of materials, so I wouldn't want to have to make a bunch of copies all over the map.

With the tree base, I can build just one copy, and then move my base wherever I want.

It's also a great place to store giant stacks of materials and warehouse them. If I need to make more potions, or food, I just need to only run to the nearest big tree location, and summon my base there.

PLUS, it can follow you to other servers. If you join another world, your entire tree base comes along too.

Home is as close as the nearest big tree. I consider it one of the best features of the game currently.

I love those trees.

I mean, in every survival game you´ve got to build a shelter there, some outposts all over the map and a big(ger) base somewhere else, which is nice in the first 2 or 3 Survivalgames you play.
But this starts to get boring at some point, because it´s just repeat repeat repeat repeat repeat... just in another game.

Here you get one single base you can use all over the map and also use it as a kind of a hub to get fast to the biom/npc/bossfight etc you want go next. (If you have a armor which allows you to fly and if you are using the branches to take off in the direction you want to go, the ways to go getting very short.)

It´s one of those ideas, you´re asking yourselve about it:
"It´s so genius because it´s so simple, why the hell no one had this idea before?"

In my opinion this feature will be the new standard in this genre within the next time. You´d might even call it a "revolution".

CONGRATS TO THE DEVS!

Yea sooo true...once you've got winged armor, gliding right off the top from your base will take you pretty far across the map. VERY convenient and fun to do :D

A huge selling point of the game. I love moving my tree base around to where ever I'm going to be spending some time.

Also, depending how much you played, once you claim climb to claim your first tree, you can instantly claim any other tree without having to climb to the top again.

It was great if you explored a new area, travelled far, got a ton of new resources with a full inventory, and instead of the long trip hope, ignoring resources along the way, you could just look for the nearest tree, claim it, call the lift, go up, deposit, and if you have the wings, glide back to where you were. I still built mini-bases or huts around the map for extended stays, storms, sleeping, and spawn points.

One can totally not use it, but for those that love building, it's a really cool system to be able to always transfer your base between worlds and servers (Like if you join a streamer's server and also allow base tours.) Also, I assume there is less risk to your base as the game updates, since the tree is less likely to change than terrain of the game over development.

I do the same. I built small 2X3 huts at the base of big trees, just to put a bunch of chests there. I run in and dump out materials to free up bag space, and only when I have a bunch of full stacks do I summon my tree base and start shuttling stuff upwards.

Def missing a huge part of the game, an QoL addition to the survival game genre. You claim a tree and as you progress through each Biome, to seek out better resources and equipment, you can then bring your whole entire base you built in the tree with you to the new biome, or atleast close enough so it's not as much of a hassle as it would be to travel across the whole map every time you want to explore, or farm. You can have bases all over the map, but only one Tree.
