Pet Interaction
Enjoying the game when I'm not tearing my hair out ;-P Looking forward to watching it progress. I've tamed a few pets but the interaction menu for them is pretty lame or I'm missing something obvious. Many foods say you can heal the pet with them but there is nothing in the interaction menu that I can find on how to accomplish this. I've also lost several pets by trying to scroll the menu down to the stay command with no way to bypass the release command to get there. Now that you're done laughing at me, some insights into what I'm missing here would be appreciated. Thanks :-)

As far as I know you can heal them by throwing food infront of them. Haven´t tried it myself yet so idk if it works but it´s worth a try.

It tells you on screen to press C to scroll through the menu, then press E to perform the selected action.
Just drop food in front of the mount to heal it, it will just eat it, and heal. Keep feeding until its health bar is full

How do you heal down pets?

If you mean pets that have been knocked out, there's a pet incense item that functions like a blow dart. Aim and shoot at them.

I believe it's made on the crafting bench, but I could be mistaken.

My pets get knocked out or faint when their HP hits 0, then they just lay there with two light thingies floating around its head for the longest time. I can't heal them at all, then, they just die. No amount of food or healing items thrown in the ground in front of it will revive them. What can I do?

There's an item to revive them. Would need to get in-game to verify the name, but it's an incense that works like a bow/arrow or blow dart. Reddish look.

Aim and shoot just like a bow.
