When will you fix GPU temperatures?
I cant play due to bad optimization. After 2 mins temperatures breakes barier of 83 Celcius

Some gpus just run hotter than others, it depends on the GPU in question. Have you tried adjusting the fan curve on the GPU manually or set it to a higher percentage? Blow out your computer? You didn't even list your gpu though.

GTX 1080, down volted to 0.925mV. I put fan speed manualy, for examle i use 66% for RDR2 and temperatures goes to 72 degree max. Here i use 70% cooler speed and temperatures goes 83% in main menu and slowly rising.

Same here,
NVIDIA RTX 2070super...getting superhot.

Plus side is, that I can commit more hours to this game due to not having to move to the kitchen to cook.

I was getting high temps despite supposedly turning on v-sync and frame limiter, both in game and in nVidia settings.

After lowering some graphics settings and putting FPS limit at 30 (not even sure if it works) I got temps down so the fans don't spin like crazy.

I have an oldie but decent 1080 TI

According to that I think the problem is, they do not optimized for GPU as well.

If your gpu gets higher than 67 celcius on a nvidia card, then your case cooling, paste or fan cooling on the graphic card is not function as it should !

Do a checkup on it .. if the paste is older than 4-5 years, then its about time to replace the termalpaste, same goes for the cpu, the paste gets to dry after many years of use, so if you replace that and all the fans work as they should, then that will fix your issue for sure :)

dude i dreaded to hear this...:gk_skull:
reeee lmfao i dont think mine gets that hot but its something im putting off lmfao
guess the only true fix is water cooled lmfao

its like hearing something i know i had to do but was doing everything i could to not listen lmfao
fingers in ears lalalalalaal i cant heear youuuu
i dont need to re paste my cpuuuuuu

You must be joking. After I wrote that I did a downvolt, you should have no doubts at all about the ventilation in the case. I change thermal pads and thermal paste on the chip every year or even 2 times a year + 5 coolers in the case. And don't try to say that everyone blows coolers inside the case)

Well, it is an early access and certain older hardware may struggle more and be pushed to its limits. You can't really compare this to a AAA game that might have came out years ago and runs cooler on a certain GPU. All you can do is turn down your settings, blow out your computer, turn fans up, or wait for a patch. You could definitely still have some kind of cooling issue though.

Maybe it just affects older hardware more, but I would double check your cooling and blow out the computer anyway.

I have one of the hottest cpus out in stock form a 5800X3D and It mostly stays in the low to mid 70's while playing this game. It might have peaked to high 70's once. I only have my 2 rad fans turned up to 70. If I turned them up in the 80's Percentage, it would probably stay in the low-mid 70's the whole time.

My RX 6900XT stayed in the low to mid 70's the whole time playing this game fans are set below 70% on a curve.

A lot of the older nvidia gpus like the gtx 1080 are ok in the low to mid 80's. Obviously I would prefer to be closer to 80 or below, but that's not always going to happen in every game and scenario. I had a gtx 1080 a few years back and I remember it running around 80C playing a lot of games, even RDR2, but I had the settings cranked up.

Sometimes just blowing out the PC and video card can help lower the temps in all games. I know I have said this multiple times, but with older gpus like the gtx 1080 as it gets older and older like the person said above, it may be a good idea to re-apply thermal paste too.

*Edit

Well, I left and came back after about and hour and didn't see some of the replies above.

I am just typing in general btw and not quoting any specific person.

I am just typing some info for others in the future that might come along in this thread with similar temp issues.

dood. you have modded your gpu. Don't complain when it doesn't run properly...

OMG you done vene understand what you talking about. You dont know why should we do down volt, pls do not write anything

I'm only seeing 54 c cpu cores and 48 c GPU. RTX 2080.
Piedrops Apr 9, 2023 @ 11:24pm
I'm experiencing the same issue when playing the game with default clock speed. I had to reduce the clock speed of my max state and reduce the voltage to play with less temp. Right now I'm playing in between 55-65 celsius.

Imagine downclocking your gpu because you don´t want to optimize the case cooling and then complaining about hot temps.

How are the devs supposed to fix your pc, hm?
Organizer Apr 10, 2023 @ 5:18am
No idea how bad the issue is, but I noticed improvements with the last patch (they definitively made some improvements, though I feel there's more optimisation needed).
