Take an immediate right in the catacombs, just above the skeleton is a group of colony spiders, you'll need a grappling hook to get up there.

They spawn quickly in groups of two. The hard part is killing them all before the others respawn. Don't bother blocking, just use a poison resist potion before, and healing potions as necessary.

One power attack with the pyrite greatsword can kill both in one hit, use simple attacks for singles.

Went from like lvl 40 to lvl 75 in about an hour

Don't forget to keep an eye on weapon durability unless you also bring mats to repair it

I prefer the board that drops down into the subfloor. You can build a small structure in the corner by the wall and overturned pew for a safe spawn point and workbench.
Stand on the board and pull the spiders up. They usually come by 1-3 and you can smash them as they come up.. Easy retreat if things go wrong.
As you get stronger you can go all the way down and just stand at the bottom and mass smashing spiders as they spawn.
