pets are a hassle...

i guess most would agree that the pets arent that great especially since they just... instantly die in a pond size water and the AI of their pathing keeps getting them killed =T
not hating on the game as i enjoy the idea of it so far but i lost my geckos and my wolf spiders.
whats peeps opinions?

I keep all my tames at the tree base as decorations pretty much because I am too scared to lose them. I really love how the grasshopper works, so much that it makes the other tames feel so empty. The lizard and spider are basically the same. They did say that more pet interaction and work is on the way, which I look forward to.

It does seem like the pet versions are not as powerful, which bums me out. I get that you might need to level them to get them back to where they used to be, but the level caps seem super low, and again i am too scared to lose them to take them out into the world to do so. If you could craft some sort of snack to revive them when they go down instead of instant-death, that would be really great...

If you have that situation in the future, you have to get far away from the tame. The whistle summon won't work if they're already near you. I had the same situation happen with the bird (on the same ledge I think you're talking about), and I had to go all the way up to the top of the stairs before the whistle would work.

What Specimen197 is correct. You need to get the recipe from the historian before you can tame any hornet. Regular or black.

They start at around level 90 not 90+. The first one I got was level 88.

Yes I KNOW and as said prior I already HAVE a hornet I wanted to know where/how ti get a BLACK one. But as also said that was answered in another thread.
