The New Armor set does not feel worth the effort. *spoilers*
Do we all think the new armor set stats are a bug? They are exactly the Same as the Pyrite armor. Even the new wings are the same as the sapphire ones in terms of stats. I get that no real new materials aside from the feathers are in it, bu to my knowledge, slaying the Tit is the only way to get feathers, and outside of an actual BOSS, this thing hit's like a truck and takes forever to slay. Given that the first Tit I killed to get an egg only gave me 6 feathers, and we need 14 for the whole set and weapons, that's at LEAST three kills. Combined with the 44 reishi leather you need, that's a total of 174 mushroom chunks...That is a lot of grinding for an armor set that just looks a bit new. Granted the two weapons are BETTER, but that's where it feels like an error.

On top of all that, instead of 10 hoots for 20 pyrite, now it's only 5 hoots for 20 pyrite. Need 500 hoots plus a blue tit egg to get the blue tit bird mount.

The axe and hammer are worth it due to the increase in damage from them. I was expecting a little more on the new armor but then disappointment set in when I saw the stats on them, especially as you mentioned what is needed to get the armor.

The icarus wings have some kind of super jump, where the wings flap and it propels you straight up. I have never seen that on the regular insect wings.

I'm still a little hazy about how it gets triggered, I'm thinking of double tap space while jumping... it's a little hard to test since I think there's a cooldown after use.

On a side note, since the stats are identical, you can mix and match whatever way you wanted. I really really really did not like the look of the pyrite helmet. Now I don't need to use it anymore, and can swap in the icarus helmet which looks great.

in fact, I'm using icarus helmet and breastplate, and still using the pyrite arms and legs (I don't like all the exposed skin on the icarus ones).

Yeah, they did nerf that. But I saw that as an "introductory offer", to help speed us through the quest and unlock passage to forbidden monuments.

But mining pyrite is not the best way to get hoots. Kill the aetherians. I just hit 5 aetherian camps and made 103 hoots. I start at the merry-go-round (it has 2 elites), then the camp at the base of the dead tree, then castle sandbox. Then I reverse and go back to the 2 first camps which will have respawned by then.

It's a lot less boring then mining pyrite, and I farmed a bunch of items off of them. The aetherians drop healing patches (the ones made with honey), lesser and regular healing potions, anti-poison potions, and food items. After those 5 camps, I have more healing items then I started with (despite chugging healing stuff continuously), and 2 whole stacks of food items.

You press whichever button you have set for sprinting to trigger the Icarus wing action while gliding.

I did not know about the super jump, at the VERY LEAST, it does make the wings themselves useful.

As for the hoots, I will say, farming camps with the new level up system? Hasn't felt like an absolute punishment. So that I can get behind, I have done a few rounds and have near 100, so it's nice that that is the case. But...2000 pyrite for the full 500 hoots FEELS SO BAD.

Its not just a super jump, it allows you to fly up by pressing your sprint button for a bit of stamina.

I agree the new set of armor just feels like a cosmetic upgrade.

I like the new weapons though.

You can make 50 of the new arrows though that are almost twice as strong as the strongest one for i think one feather and 5 pyrite and 5 refined wood, which is alot of arrows. Easy to take down birds with.

the wings literally allow you to shoot upwards
