Report a translation problem
Last quest I got was "Wait till next update" or something. Should I have a quest updated or do I need to talk to an NPC to continue? I already opened the clover chest or something, and it said to wait till update.
If you revisit the Historian, with the document, his dialogue is updated and he will reveal the secret door on the map.
I believe you need to speak the elder first, with the half of the clover scroll you got out of the walnut chest in your inventory. That kicks off the series of fetch quests that get the passage not only shown on map, but unlocked.
Even if you find the door first, it will be locked unless you do the quest chain.
Oh wow... not... sure... how you fix that problem.
Have you looked inside the walnut chest again? Hopefully the devs have got a solution for this.
IIRC, the quest chain works like this:
1. Talk to the elder, IIRC the dialogue option did not appear until I had the torn scroll in my inventory.
2. He tells you to go talk to historian in the basement crypt of the ruined church.
3. The historian says he could translate, but he traded a book to the merchant. Mine a stack of pyrite before you leave the chapel.
4. The merchant will trade the book back for pyrite.
5. Bring the book back to the historian, he translate everything, and the location of the door to the Forbidden Monuments is shown on map, and unlocked.
The only thing I can suggest is try each step. Talk to the elder, see if he has the dialogue option, then try talking to the historian. Find the cave with door at the base of the broken bridge, see if it will open.
