Bed Tier Behavior Differences?
Are there any? I understand that a spawn point is a spawn point, so I am not expecting any variance there.

My question is: Is sleeping the night different in the least resource-intensive bed rather than the most? Does hunger deplete less or vitality restore more overnight by sleeping in a Shelter Bed as opposed to in a Simple Bed? Do Covered Beds and Shelter Beds survive outside during a storm without taking damage? Do more expensive beds just have slightly higher durability in the unlikely event that a hostile bug gets inside your base and starts trashing your furniture? Or are the differences purely aesthetic/meant to provide players with a sense of pride and accomplishment?

Haven´t done any actual testing, but I feel like there´s no difference.

I've tried the different beds and noticed no difference, yet. Perhaps with a future update a Status effect may be added, based upon the bed you use.

Same the basic bed seems to have no difference (other than appearance) the the most expensive one.

At one point, the beds restored more health dependant on tiers, I think it was 30/60/90 respectively, however this seemed a bit backwards as new players needed the hp more so we decided to just scrap the idea but keep the beds

Good idea would be the better ones cause hunger to go up less (lose less saturation).

The different tier bed and different tier building materials (fibre, wood, stone, metal) need to have some reason to use them

But Kaya idea is good one, have the high tier beds slow down saturation lose over night.
As for higher building material, Maybe have them allow higher and larger building without support? Since even the lower tier keep your warm and no damage from storms

I'm gonna second this idea as well. It's realistic. I mean, if you sleep in a shabby bed in real life you're gonna do more tossing and turning than sleeping, which burns more calories than the uninterrupted deep sleep you'd get from a deluxe soft warm bed.

Would be nice if the higher tier beds gave some sort of buff, like a stamina regen or health regen, poison resistance, or some combinations of those.

If you want to be thematic about it, your literally resting in some medicinal plants.
