Best robots & weapons for a new F2P player?

I started playing 3 days ago. So far I have 4 hangar slots and my best robots are Leo, Strider (through lucky draw of black market chest), Gepard & GI. Patton.

I'm currently level 17, Bronze III League. I want to make the best use of my resources since I don't want to spend real money. Which robots & weapons will be the best investments for me going forward?

I prefer a well-rounded hangar so I can experience as many playstyles as possible, but I also don't want to hamstring myself by purchasing underpowered items.

Any other advice unrelated to this would be appreciated. Thank you.

If you play on Android you get alot more free recources.

Practically any weapon you can purchase from the story with either silver or gold are underpowered items. I'd say, literally every one of them is. The only time any of these weapons are useful is when they are on an OP Meta robot.

Same goes for the Robots you can get for silver and gold. They are all underpowered, outclass, and out performed, and the only case you'll ever get any real use of them past the beginner stages is, as you guessed it, when equipped with the latest and most over powered gear, then they can become relevant.

That's just the strength of new robots and gear. You're beginning an uphill battle with all the handicaps and you aren't going to realistically enjoy this game, as its path way to success involves frustrating the player into either quitting or spending money.

I hope not, I've been enjoying the game so far. I have noticed an uptick in powerful mechs in my matches, even titans, so I guess I'll just keep playing until it gets tiresome.

P2W turned me off from Mech Arena as well. It was very fun at first and then I noticed the power gap between my mechs and other people's mechs increase over time, until it was nearly impossible to compete without spending real money.

Vampire Survivors is the only mobile game I know of that's fun and doesn't bait you until spending real money like that.

Perhaps you don't want to spend real money. Then your best goal is to get as many 1000 key black market prizes as you can get. Save for 150 or the 200% boost before you use your keys. ( unless its for leaderboards ) . But if you were to invest a tiny amount of currency you would be well off getting one of the cheap MK2 bots with MK2 weapons usually around 5 dollars.

But in most cases for most players, we use what we have and make the best of it. Until better comes along. Best deals happen around Christmas.

Leo, Natasha, Griffin, Gareth and Stalker/ Another Leo were the Robots' that I was using way before Pilots and such.

Youll find yourself facing a lot of higher lvl bots soon enough. I remember seeing titans when i was lvl22 (titans come at lvl30}. new gear comes slowly so for now try to keep waepons the same range on a bot.

it takes about 3 months of upgrade time per item and per robot to upgrade them to the max each, one at a time. I never pay and after a year i still dont have a maxed out hangar and I still have fun. Save all your gold for buying modules and don't waste gold on speeding up upgrades. you can earn about as much gold as is spent speeding up upgrades if you play the whole time upgrades are going. I like bolt, kumiho, cossack, jesse, doc, griffin, leo, vityaz, rogatha, and patton. I didn't really use any of the other 'free' bots even though i've acquired most of them. iYou can log in daily for the daily rewards and every now and then there are gift marathons where i've received bots and weapons for free. Log in daily for the free stuff!

p.s. if you see a robot on your team not moveing around and only shooting homing missles, push it into the wall so it can't shoot or push it off a cliff if it's the lava level. since i started pushing them into walls i've encountered a lot less of them

The main disadvantage with the old starter bots is there lack of mod slots.
If they had the same as the rest, they can give newer bots a run for there money.

As for the weapons, the reload is there biggest problem, way too long.

i am making full use of avengers in champion league but only because i was able to grind my pilot with gold, and have a maxed drone.

i can not recommend wasting pilot points on meme build.

i turned my ao jun into a A-10 lol but realistically speaking it's a one trick pony and avengers would fall short on any other build.

thunders on the other hand are a free starting weapon that are fast and cheap to level and do insane damage. i have 2 at mk3 and use them on more then one build.

For dash bots thunders are a decent cheap to upgrade weapon.
Good to use till you can get something decent.
Surfer pilot helps with them.

Pilot was just what was handy and not leveled fully.
Going to change to unstable conduit for bots.
