some players drop leagues on purpose to seal-club players like you (it's called tanking). this gives them easy gold to upgrade MkII weapons and robots. These players should really be in much higher leagues. and the higher leagues are thin, so many times you might get matched against people in the higher leagues.
In February (hopefully by mid-Feb for Steam) we should get a player report page. Basically, after a match you can report players for various things, including tanking. if a player gets too many reports from other players, they get a suspension.
hopefully tankers will finally have to play in their appropriate league, and you won't have such a problem fighting OP opponents.
I hope that I will not be signaled too much because I cannot stay in the expert league for more than two days.
---------------------------------
In my opinion ... such a system will never exist for various reasons, so suddenly I only come up with these three, but surely there are much more:
- "Normal" players would penalize "Pay To Win" players and Pixonic will never put your winnings with these players at risk.
- "Tanker" players are a nuisance, true, as are "PTW" players, but let's not forget that many of them also spend money. Pixonic is not going to put these revenues at risk either.
- There would always be the possibility of voting for revenge. If there are already players burned with the game (matchmaking, PTW ...) imagine the atmosphere that could be created in the gaming community.
Hopefully I'm wrong, but this "rumor" (if it were true) seems to me more like an attempt to wash the image for Pixonic than a serious intention. WR is a PTW game and it's never going to be fair, let's face it.
The problem is: the small player base, the PTW approach and the matchmaking system. The problem is not the reputation of the players.
But hopefully I'm wrong.
